![]() Which makes my earlier thoughts about the crew getting Ace's fruit and running away completely wrong.

I kind of wonder why the factory is under the colosseum. I can think of a few reasons - sending all the losing gladiators there either to work or sacrifices, and to get Devil Fruits from when gladiators with such powers die. Hopefully more will be revealed soon. I think that it's pretty random that no one remembers the toys - Why is their memory erased? Why is Rebecca's not(Is she some sort of a seer / psi user or...)? I hope that there's a good explanation for both of these questions. I wonder if we'll see Cavendish and the other pirates teaming up with Luffy in order to escape from the marines. I'm rather eager to learn more about their abilities. Still, the story is picking up really nicely and I hope that the next chapter will continue developing the story further - Enough pointless fights already.

As far as I know, the way it works is that when a DF user dies, the fruit will more or less randomly appear in the world somewhere afterwards - only Blackbeard has shown he can extract a power from a dead/dying DF user (correct me if I'm forgetting something here).

Might be just me but the recent fighting chapters where nothing has been revealed have been rather mediocre to me. I kind of wonder why the factory is under the colosseum. I didn't like this chapter because it didn't answer anything, it just brought up more questions for me. Like why is Quinjao crying? What did actually Garp do to him that even Quinjao doesn't remember it? If someone turns people into toys why are their memories erased? Regardingin Rebecca, I can say that she might be a haki user who blocked the forgetting part or she just got to know that toy AFTER he was made a toy. Maybe that toy is the bronze statue guy and that's why she admires him ![]() Also, how will Law get away from there? :S Robin and Usopp seem to go to the colosseum right now which means that they left Law with a bunch of marines including an admiral and Dofla. At the end I can only see those pirates gang up on the marines and Doflas people. Just imagine Luffy, Burgess, Cavendish, Quinjao, Bartolomeo etc. against vice-admirals and a huge flock of marines and Diamante from Dofla's crew.

Artificial devilfruits are made, people are turned into toys and humans lose memory of those humans My first instinct is that the smile can only be made when a human is reduced to a toy.

There's plot progression because new revalations lead to new questions. Oda has always been slow and meticulous in unravelling the plot. Enjoy the ride.

seeing how this tournament goes, all the guys who lost are turned into toys/ingredients for smile?

In fact, there could be a lot of hints and tidbits that were glossed over as a part of memory loss. Seems like the tournament will probably get cut short, which would be very Oda. Probably will get to the next round to show off Rebecca or Cavendish, and probably even the round after that to set Dofla's crew against Luffy's, and give time for Bellamy to come to a decision and at least attempt an assassination before that. Anyway, I like that more questions were raised. I'm sick of boring 1-plot-dimension islands. Fishman Island was so linear for my mind. Big Mam's slice on the island was the only interesting thing for me there. I guess the current subplot list goes like: + Show Spoiler + - Dwarf Kingdom: trying to rescue princess. Extremely indebted to Norland. - Law: vs Admiral and Shichibukai. - CP0: Here just to placate the citizens? I don't really think so. - Rebecca, toy solider + Ricky: what connection do they all have? Who was the toy beforehand? - Chinjau: What did Garp take from him? What is locked in his past? - Ace's Devil Fruit: What will be the destiny for this power? Is it even a real fruit? - Samurais: What's their proper stake in all this? - Toys: What people have been locked away with their pasts stolen? Who is doing this? For what purpose? If they wanted to silence them, why not just kill them off? - Doflamingo's Laws: why do they exist? - Bellamy: What will he decide? What really happened on Sky Island? I'm actually looking forward to a heartwarming flashback here. - Marines: If they're there to arrest some potentially pretty big names (Luffy, Law, Cavendish, Barty, others?) who else have they brought along? If a buster call is 5 VAs, we're already at 1 A and 2 VAs. It's already a huge operation. - Barty: What is his connection to Luffy? - Blackbeard wrestler guy: What sort of spanner would such a powerhouse put into the whole thing? - Doflamingo: Still so much more to know about the big bad for this arc. I love such a complicated arc. Honestly this looks already more complicated than Shabondy.
