Wow, I never thought I'd feel sad for a comic relief character, good job Oda! I do wonder what Pound's backstory is? Seems like he was a king of sorts - judging by the crown.

This is what, like the fifth death in this arc? Looks like the old saying "no one dies in one piece except for a flashback" may not be relevant anymore. Unless everyone just comes back to life like they sometimes do, of course.

Fifth? Who are the other four? I can only remember two random guys who "died" to show off how powerful katakuri and some cp0 woman was. Oh and that mink guy, but it's a bomb so he's still alive. Truthfully, people always seem to die in One Piece, it's just that their deaths aren't important to make a fuss out of. Marineford had thousands dying but no one really cared for them, only Ace was important enough to show. Mostly speaking it is fair enough to assume that nameless characters who are covered in blood, slashed, crushed or whatever with lifeless eyes are dead, it's just that we assume they aren't important to the personal narrative.
