I'm soooooooo concerned by Luffy's face. He looks si freaking OLD on the last panel that's shocking... Good chapter nonetheless, I was sure Brook would've hid this ^^ Btw he always hid things in his skull, at least we know it since thriller bark and the phone dial that plays the song of his crew, bink's sake. | ||

For me, it sounds like the Pirate King’s end. Throughout the manga, there are remarks made by people, friends or foes of Luffy, who are saying that Luffy’s pushing himself too hard for his own good. Eg in W7 arc, in Enies Lobby, when Luffy fights CP0, Rob Lucci says to him when he uses Gear 2nd that he is eating his lifespan. He gets several other remarks like that one through the course of his actions. On the other hand, Gol D. Roger was known to do reckless things to save his crew and Nakama’s (like what Garp says to Dadan during the grey terminal flashback iirc). And Roger surrendered himself to the Marines because of a “Mysterious illness”, as Rayleigh says to SW crew. So, I wonder if the mysterious illness of Roger they talk about could not have been coz he just pushed himself waaaaay to much for his crew and to become the Pirate King. Just like what Luffy’s is currently doing, as shown in the manga as well as in the little remarks he gets throughout his adventures. It might just be what you are saying, or it might just be the premise of the same illness Roger got by pushing himself too hard. | ||

Good points above, I agree that Luffy will pay some sort of price because of his recklessness down the line. I feel the last page shot is left for the reader to interpret if it's this fatigue or just starvation that's making him look like shit. | ||

It should be the manga's goal to tell a good story, and you can't just build stuff up like this for an entire god damn year and then "well and then they leave lol". | ||

The crew has everything they truly need to leave, but that won't be enough for their own ambitions. I highly doubt they'll just bail out here. I think the whole crew will meet up in the mirror world. Jimbe may have saved Pekoms and may know what Capone is up to. They also know what Pudding is up to. They also know about the Tamatebako box. So the Straw Hats would be the only ones who know all the plots with the possible exception of what the Vinsmokes are up to. They can then come up with a plan of their own to come out on top of everyone else. I'd bet that plan probably has Sanji participating in the wedding up to a point. I find it very hard to believe Oda would build up the wedding for this long and then just abandon it. | ||
