Oda has always been good (read as: suitably accepted by most people) to not have clear power indications for important fights, just to keep the plot/fight interesting for us, so far this arc is so good. Not sure what people are arguing on lol

He's way, way smaller. Look at chapter 836, Luffy is about as tall as one of Cracker's legs while he actually was smaller than just Dorry's hand. Which of course doesn't rule out he's a giant, as Bastille was a giant also, and he wasn't really all that big.

And he was pretty clearly responding to Luffy's attack, his shield was up after all. Also, hes never shown going-black with Haki, if we go by the logic that only going-black indicates Haki then why would Luffy make the Haki statement? Biscuits never shown going-black. Even when hes taking the Hawk Gattling hes not going-black. Also you have to admit that Cracker is a swordsman. ![]() i dont think he really responed in time at all, he was caught off guard, luffy might have just smashed the shields on purpose as the shortest route to his chest luffy mentioned he had the strongest haki hes had to face so far, which would include Doflamingo, who took a very long beating from G4 and stood up afterwards so i dont think Crackers haki would have been so massively overwhelmed by one punch

What excites me even more is how relatively simple the character designs are (ie, no giants, fishmen or strange beasts), which leads me to think that some of those plain looking characters in his crew must have some sort of badass devil fruits, because I doubt the fighting abilities of all of Shank's crew is just basic hand to hand with powerful Haki. Anyone have any speculation on powers/abilities outside of the basic roles such as swordsman/sniper. Would be a cool topic of discussion. + Show Spoiler + ![]()

I've seen some cool speculation that the fatass has a time fruit that stops time when he holds his breath, allowing him to essentially teleport. Also it's my personal speculation that Shanks has a cybernetic arm under that cloak, which is why we never see his stump.

Also this whole line of thought is just funny, I like the thought of Kaido's crew desperately trawling the ocean trying to find their suicidal boss. I wonder if Kaido's fruit grants a form of invulnerability
