But absolutely agree about Robb as a leader, he made some poor decisions and was never going to command the respect Eddard could, especially at such a young age and being naïve. Catelyn is also a very poor decision maker. It was upsetting that Robb's wife had to be involved and killed, but Frey said it himself, he shouldn't have brought her to parade in front of his children. So is it pretty certain that Robb's uncle, the one who got married off, will be murdered? I mean, his dad got chopped down. I wonder if he will be used by Frey as a method of controlling the men that his house commands for Frey's intent, or even will be controlled by Tywin. Also does anyone want to hazard a guess as to how involved Tywin was with that whole thing? He gave the impression that he was worried about Robb's army and the Starks in general when he has been talking the other times, but if he had known about this he would have been laughing all the way to the bank. | ||

I think this thread has been about the best possible 'spoiler free' discussion you can find on the net. Unfortunately you need to allow people to speculate and predict and discuss underlying themes etc in the show. Also, unfortunately, some people will be assholes. I think if you really want to stay squeaky clean of spoilers, this thread should be entirely avoided. | ||

It's funny tho because if you read or search about Robert's rebellion, the Lannisters pulled the "same" or similar trick on Aerys. They stayed the hell out of the war until they saw Robert's and Ned's army going to King's Landing after Rhaegar died to then proceed to tell Aerys "We Lannisters are with ya!" to betray him and sack the city... Oh, that video was awesome. Full of non-spoiler history. Nice. | ||

So my thinking was that Robb's uncle would be kept alive as some sort of prisoner until he agreed to be loyal to Frey -- but that he wasn't going to be murdered like all the others. | ||

By the way everyone I watched the show with thought that Edmure married the youngest daughter in the lineup (the one who "hasn't bled yet"). I was like wait, so someone the same age as Catelyn is marrying a girl that's 12 or younger? Then someone linked the GoT wiki which said she's 19. | ||
