Anyway, I did have a quick question, probably wasn't paying as much attention as I should've, what exactly was Jon Snow's motivation to go serve at the wall? He was a bastard that never really fit in (though he was very close with Robb and Arya, Sansa always calls him her "bastard half-brother" and Catelyn absolute hates him). Once Ned took his party to leave for the south, Jon chose to go to the Wall where he would be able to make his own name instead of being confined by being a bastard. Otherwise he would have had to stay at Winterfell with Catelyn, who is a monstrous bitch towards him.

Yet she still hasn't figured that out. Also is the Black Watch the Foreign Legion of Westeros and Essos? Well, not really. That had nothing to do with Ned discovering Joffreys parentage, and that was what got both him and Robert killed.

He is a bastard and so not the equal of his brothers and sisters in terms of entitlement. He was in there shadow and looked down upon by society as a whole. Catelyn also hates him, if you remember the scene where he visits bran. On the wall any man can rise despite where he came from. Also his uncle benjen is who was in at least one episode (not sure exactly offhand) is a prominent member of the nights watch. Also I think its fair to say that he had it in his head that the nights watch was a noble institution and filled with heroes like his uncle. I say that based on his conversations with Tyrion on the way to the wall.

I think probably I went in with different expectations to the episode than you, I wasn't expecting a climatic finale, I was expecting something more like a denouement, setting up the atmosphere for next season. TY for the answers Zone and Curu, still confuses me a bit, I mean those guys are celibate lol .

I did like the Dothraki part too with the witch doctor women or whatever, I was pretty confused by that character's motivations with helping the Dothraki who crushed her village etc, so it was good to get some closure there. TY for the answers Zone and Curu, still confuses me a bit, I mean those guys are celibate lol .No, I wasn't expecting a climatic finale either. Although if I were in charge I would not have ended the season that particular way. It felt like the intro for season 2 rather than the ending for season 1. So you're right on the money with that one. You're on the right foot of expectations though, that is the key thing to this, I expected an ending to a TV season on HBO. I'm not quite at the end of book 1 yet, almost there, but if the endings are identical; Something for the fans of the books to cheer about. And for people that aren't into this with having read them they should have changed that. Like the inexhaustible supply of changes I could mention littered throughout the series, some important (answer questions) others only confusing. Clearly, in the role of adaptation producer, you must choose what to change and what not to. Thank you Adebisi for your insight, didn't mean to come off as harsh as this sounded when I re-read it as so many users on this forum are, so I wanted to say that I direct it at others who might be reading. Of course I knew there had to be a continuation, I knew this fact about LOTR when watching the movies too. But that worked. This didn't. It's a good thing I'm already hooked and not in someone else's shoes that isn't convinced they should come around next season after that episode 'to find out what happens next.'

The commander mentions it in his talk with Jon in the last episode.

Just finished Book 1 and Season 2 gives me nerd-chills. Also, I feel like people are hating on Ep.10 for lack of "action" are the same ones who hated on the first few episodes for lack of "action". Good storytelling isn't always action-packed.

DRAGONS MOTHERFUCKER So AWESOME. I'm stoked as hell. I WANT TO START READING SO BADLY. I dont see how anyone could have disliked that... seriuosly, so great. Dany's ritual was weird as hell, though. Yes, burning the witch made sense. And burning Drogo made sense, too. And I guess putting the eggs in there made sense, since theyre dragon eggs and its fire and shit. But why the FUCK did she go in? Does that make sense at all? How does she know she's supposed to do that, assuming she's supposed to?

I dont think she knew exactly she was supposed to go in there for the ritual to "work", but she did anyways because she wanted to be close to drogo and the eggs and she knew fire could not hurt her, so I guess it makes sense.

The two dragons were suposed to be driking milk from her breast but they decided to use them to cover her vagina instead, maybe if they didnt went this route, it would make more sense.

That said, the ending was fantastic, and I still enjoyed the ending, but everything else wasn't good. I think the ending would have been nice to end with ned's death (and preferably all the other stuff that happened that episode that I don't remember anymore), but that would have been hard to organize I think? not a whole lot happened in this episode, it was still stuff that happened chronologically after, and would have probably been very hard to reverse these events. Oh by the way, to anyone not reading/read the books, don't go near the wiki of ice and fire cause you'll get spoiled pretty damn easily... I learned something about Jeoffry that wasn't too surprising, but still an unfortunate spoiler.
