Especially when there were plenty of warnings from readers early in the season, not to get attached to the characters, as a lot of these "main" characters will die.
I'm sure there will be more similar scenarios.

In the past couple of episodes with Ned sitting in the dungeon I kept thinking to myself: Does he confess? Does someone give him a key and he sneaks out and runs off? Do they bust in and rescue him? But each solution pissed me off more than the last. I kept thinking how typical it would be for Ned to survive, defeat the Lannisters, and live happily ever after. It's the same tired old shit. I was shocked when Ned was killed, blown away, even angry. It took an hour of reflection to realize it's what I wanted all along. Fantastic character, brilliant book/TV Series.

Last I checked, that makes him a lot older than 15. I believe he was referring to the character's age, in regards to the book, as people have already said, he's 17 in the show, possibly 18.

He is Yoren, a man from the Nights Watch that went to Kings Landing to gather recruits. He traveled south with Tyrion and reported to Ned that Catelyn had captured Tyrion. This was all back in episodes 3-5.

I agree that it's gonna take too long for next season to start. But that's always the case with good shows. Still waiting for Sons of Anarchy to start off again. Kurt Sutter is so good.
