[06:42] <+scintilliaSD> "What did you do, Mr. Wright?" "I overwrote cancer with the value from my deku nuts, which happens to be unicorns in God's memory map. Now, instead of getting cancer, people shit out unicorns instead." [06:43] <+Phearlock> Is this a fanfic Scint? [06:43] <+Phearlock> I think it should be a fanfic. [06:43] <+scintilliaSD> "That's fascinating." "Yes. Now I'm going to play my bomb and get out of here." Fucking sleep, man. You can get by on like 2 hours a night with discipline. I do it during the week before the mid semester break, because I have so many damn assignments due. If you get into a pattern, it's not even particularly difficult (and if you don't need an alarm to do it, you're on the right track), although you do feel a little drained constantly. If you really don't enjoy sleeping, I'd seriously consider cutting back a lot of it. + Show Spoiler [Disclaimer] + I take no responsibility for any damage caused by long term implementation of this lifestyle.

That just...seems crazy as hell. I will take your word for it that it works for you, but I just can't do that. I end up feeling like my brain is encased in fog the next day. I've never even TRIED doing it for more than one day. (This is actually one of the reasons I hate sleep, I need a lot of it, which uses up more time.) Thanks for the advice though, I was just ranting, I didn't expect anyone to actually attempt to help In truth, if I really wanted to cut down on sleep badly enough, I'd probably experiment with biphasic sleep, where you nap for ~90 mins in the afternoon and sleep for 5-6 hours at night. Apparently this also works long-term. But since I haven't tried this, clearly I don't care enough to actually take action.

The game that has the most money donated to cancer research in it's name gets to be the winner. Chances are kind of slim because a large company like Sony or Neatherrealms will probably just buy it out, but it's nice to dream. (evo is the biggest fighting game tournament in the world, and it happens once a year; for those who don't follow the fgc) Honestly, it would be an embarrassment if it wins. Not because it won in itself, but because of what would actually take place on the main stage of the largest fighting game tournament. The game likely won't be finished by then, and Mane 6 explicitly said at year's end that they wouldn't be releasing any more special tournament builds because getting the game presentable for an unfinished release takes a lot of time away from actual development of new features. That means the last build they could use would be the Canterlot Gardens build, which had only 5 characters, a music-less stage, and a very very unfinished RD who had a huge advantage because her lack of animations made her unreadable and she wasn't properly balanced. But even more importantly, the brony community at large sees this as a chance to shove ponies out there for people to see instead of a tournament to compete in seriously on the world stage. Not only will people not be able to practice for this, but I highly doubt that most of the people donating are going to fly out to Vegas and actually compete. Editing later: That said, if it is finished, the FGC generally has had a positive reception to the game and many of the big names would likely be willing to play it. Since it'd be easy money slaughtering new players, it's totally possible that we could see fighting game pros playing the game on stage. As long as the prize is worth the practice hours, anyway.

+ Show Spoiler + [10:58:13 PM] Salivanth: I shall make my Space Marines the color of pink, supported by a more defined, deeper pink. Fucking sleep, man. The best way to get over the night is to enjoy it. Try learning lucid dreaming. Not only can you do awesome stuff when you know you're dreaming, but directly waking up from one is the trippiest thing ever. It's almost like you close your eyes in whereever you happen to be in your dream, close your eyes for a second and notice you're in a completely different location. And since your mind was already awake in the dream, you won't feel tired. Like, at all. I really should start trying to do that again. Didn't have much success, but when I did, the morning was much more pleasant. It's not every day you lay still for 8 hours and feel like a winner at the end.

Turnout and stupid imbalances are certainly concerns, but to be fair those are concerns for every other game on the list. Maybe not as big of ones, but it's certainly no unique to FIM.
