I also play Battlefield 3, and its full of dudes, bronies, trolls, wierdos who are all obsessed with MLP...
I just dont understand, like what happened to the cartoons of old? the Ren & Stimpys, the Rockos Modern Life, the Powerpuff girls and Dexters Lab..... It got replaced with in my opinion garbage like this and spongebob squarepants...
I think it all ties in with the demise of the Male species....
Males are largely being emasculated in todays society, not that I have any sort of problem at all with homosexuality, but its presentation is becoming the norm for men in general, the hipster trendies, the metrosexuals, the skinny jeans and ladies tops. Its just sad, Muscles and Testosterone are pretty much shunned today, its all about being skinny and lanky.

Totally agree. And I think it's also worth mentioning that we were kids when we enjoyed this stuff. At some point you need to get to the stage where you remember stuff like this fondly but move on to more meaningful things instead of obsessing over it. After listening to the Howard Stern show, although it was clearly biased to get a laugh I can't help but think there's alot of emotionally stunted people attached to this show and if stuff like this keeps getting passed down to our kids then we're in trouble.
Sorry to help with the thread hijack but I had to give my opinion on this one.
EDIT: I get the feeling that I'm coming off as saying that watching any form of animated programming should be looked down upon for adults, and I don't think that at all. I myself watch anime from time to time and enjoy it, I guess just with MLP I don't see the appeal for mature audiences but at the end of the day everyone's got their own guilty pleasures. I just can't help but be concerned at the level of dedication some of the bronies have for this kind of show.

I don't consider myself a hardcore fan of the series (but I do watch it and other modern cartoons like Adventure Time regularly before going to sleep), it's just the implication that playing LOL or D3 is somehow more beneficial to society than watching a cartoon seems a bit odd to me.

Or y'know you could just leave people to do as they see fit instead of making dumb assumptions about the way they live their lives based upon one thing they enjoy.
I've rarely had the pleasure to meet such a varied and interesting group of people (many of their interests excrete testosterone too shocker!) as I have with the TL ponies and the only thing we all have in common is that we happen to like MLP and for the most part e-sports of various kinds.)
Sure some bronies are asshole kids or people a few apples short of a bushel but that is the minority you will see across the media and not representative of the vast majority of MLP fans i've had the pleasure to meet.

Dude, seriously. It sounds like you are so insecure about who you are that you have to do a set of things that are considered "manly". I, and pretty much every other male on this thread, am completely sure that watching - and liking - a show about ponies won't change who I am, nor will it me make a worse person. Hell, I still play D3 or DOTA(because if we are talking about manliness, LoL is fucking gay); I still watch football or tennis like I used to before, and I am a worker just like any other man. You know what ponies made me? They made me calm down and they make me survive the insanity that is working in an online customer support service.
Besides, there isn't anything manlier than a man watching a show about singing pasteur-colored ponies. Deal with it.

Lots of people have replied to your post, but I want to reply to it too! So here goes.
You seem to have this wrong prejudice that all men watching this all fit into one kind of personality and they all share behaviors which you consider flaws. This is so wrong on so many levels.
I will speak from my own experience and about myself. First, I absolutely love watching sports, notably Ice Hockey and Tennis. I live in Montreal, so I'm a big fan of Montreal Canadians. In the male tennis department, I'm rooting for Novak Djokovic and Milos Raonic. Since Justine Henin ended her career and with Kim Clijsters ending hers soon (also being injured so often), I had less interest in women tennis, but with recent "local" talents with Aleksandra Wozniak, Eugenie Bouchard and Françoise Abanda, women tennis is promising to be really interesting in the next couple of years (at least for me).
Second, I already spend too much time every week playing useless games for entertainment. I play a lot of single-player RPGs or Action/Adventure games, but I also play Starcraft 2. Talking about Starcraft 2, I've been so passionnate about Blizzard's RTS games that I've been playing them so much and I'm still not bored of them. I love competing in them even though I don't win anything there. It fills my need to compete.
Third, I had an internship last year at the Canadian Space Agency. I absolutely loved it and I wish that I will be able to work there permanently once I finish my Software Engineer university program. I love contributing to science. I'm not much of a physical worker, but we live in a society where everyone has their role to fill. We don't live in a world where every men must be decent at everything to have a shot at surviving. Instead, every men has a specialization that he contributes in. That's how society evolved in the last few centuries. Of course, it's the same for women.
Fourth, within all my points of interest, I still have time to watch TV shows. I absolutely love watching Fantasy/Horror shows like Supernatural and Game of Thrones. Both of which has plenty of sex scenes in them too. Both can be very violent and gory at times. At the same time I also watch My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. The art is so adorable and I love the development of each characters and see them grow as individuals. There are plenty of other reasons I watch it, but I'll leave it at those two primary ones.
Am I less masculine because I watch a show about colorful ponies sharing their struggle together and learn how friendship is amazing? No. In fact, I consider myself more masculine because I can actually stand up and say I love a show that isn't expected from male adults. I assume myself and live with it's consequences which are, by the way, mostly positive. My Little Poney taught me many life lessons which I had not learned or simply forgotten. People who regularly see me noticed it (even though they didn't make the link with the show) and compliments me on it. For example, the latest compliment I got was directly related to something I've learned in My Little Poney. I moved out to a new appartment last weekend and my parents helped me out. So many things turned out wrong during the moving out and my parents became irritated (I was not at fault, uncontrollable things happened). I remained calm all-throughout the day and even calmed them in the proccess. This is something the old me wouldn't have been able to do. Which leads me to this last point: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic helped me improve my very own personality. How many shows out there can do that? As much as I like Game of Thrones and Supernatural, neither of these shows improved my personality.
