Any chance we can use a veto system to choose the map for the best of one's? Kinda sucks to play a best of one and get a lousy map for the matchup auto-chosen for you.

Yeah, that's not generally good, that map is really bad in certain matchups, not that it's a big deal in this tournament, but veto systems are usually better. By that, I mean pre-select 3 maps, each player vetos one, the remaining map is what you play on. Easy peazy. Like first round could be Metalopolis, Antiga and Tal'darim for example.

Hmm. I didn't really think of it like that. We had the last tournament with the same rules, and I figured I would do the same for this one. But if many people like it that way, I can change it.

It's just generally a good idea to have the first map picked this way instead of picked for players, because certain maps favor certain players in certain matchups. As an example Calm before the Storm (not in the map pool, just an example) heavily favors protoss in PvZ, and favors terran in TvZ. As another example, Xel'naga caverns (also not in the map pool, just an example) is very heavily terran favored. It's unfortunate when a forced map selection for everyone favors some players because of the matchup they got.
In a best of 1 it's especially important to do something like this, because the player doesn't get a second chance.
I doubt it will be a big issue for this tournament since most players aren't playing at a level where the map makes THAT big of a difference, but there are some players that are, and it might make a difference later on. I dunno.
