Brostep or not, 1 Song of Skrillex takes way more skill than a Double Album full of the boring shite you posted, no offence. There was NOTHING special about that song. Pretty much every song I ever heard of Skrillex was intricate, amazingly skillful and left me stunned. I don't know, maybe I just dislike people that call artists shit because they wanna be the "cool kids" without taking actual quality into consideration.

Its quite telling that the best thing to come from Skrillex is a guitar instrumental of one of his tunes, done by someone else (it sounds even better with rain <3): Skrillex done right I'm well past the point of trying to be cool (I think its safe to say that when you've been out of school longer than you were in it, no?). Fair play to the man tho, hes done well for himself and a lot of ppl do like it, but imo its just "noise for the sake of noise" dubstep and I like that kind of music: Something about Skrillex/Flux P/etc that rubs me the wrong way... like nails on blackboard (showing my age a little :p), and its not for a lack of effort to find something from them that doesnt! Dubstep went up its own arse years ago anyways, wish they'd come up with a new genre term for it ![]() How I choose to remember dubstep:

To me dubstep is nights in places where you don't notice how filthy and disgusting the club/warehouse is because the music is so good and you're so drunk/buzzing/whatever else you're poisoning yourself with. Dubstep is not people waving glowsticks as they jump up and down remarking on how 'dirty that drop was'. I would rather be asked "do you know anyone who's got K" by some crackfiend then asked to take a picture of some guys who want some nice memories for facebook before they go home in a cab at 1.30. Anyway rant over here's a classic from Benga

Vario Party Machine I haven't bothered to spend money on an album for quite a while but this one was money well spent in my eyes. And why hate on Skrillex. Skrillex's good stuff is the shit-- you can't expect everything he makes to be super original. That's just asking too much of one artist.

Datsik kicks ass. Also recently went to a Skrillex concert and this guy rocks the stage. You can say whatever you want about his music and not liking it but seeing him "live" is on a whole other level. Enjoy

However, I'm loving the more "lighter" dubs that I've seen around. Paticuraly things like this: Praying by Good Boom Ft. Anna Eckhard (Barbarix remix) Audio-Spektics - Why Dont You Dance With Me M83 - We Own the Sky (Datsik Remix) <-- this is so beautiful ^-^♥ I prefer house techno, but I'm really starting to like this sort of style (Its good to have change in what you listen to, I started from classical orchestra and classic rock as a child), I like it more when the wubs actually go along with a melody (actually changes tone/pitch) and is incorperated more melodicly. But that's a personal thing. My main point is, can anyone reccomend me some more "Lighter" dubs like the few songs I have refrenced above? Either song specific or artist(s) dose not matter. Much love, ~Zenatsu

I've been looking into making my own electronic music through FL studio. I've been watching tutorials mostly and using sample packs; although, I'd eventually like to start making my own sounds from scratch. On another note,(I'm not sure if this has been talked about on this thread or not, I searched several times) I was looking on wikipedia and noticed a genre called Dubstyle. It the combination of Hardstyle and Dubstep. Although most of the artists are hardstyle producers so the influences currently sound more like hardstyle. Here's the song that started the genre. I like this one too. This is one that uses SC2 sounds.
