I honestly find it mystifying. Seems like a broad mix of:
Hipsterism: I liked dubstep before it was cool.
Elitism: These noobs don't understand what makes good dubstep.
Purism: Dubstep is only allowed to have 16% mid-range sound and must be between 130bpm and 131bpm at all times, otherwise it's complextro/electrohouse/brostep/pie.
theres no good or bad music btw, theres just music you like , you dont like and maybe music thats poorly produced / mastered ( vs well produced ) . Also , tempo of a track is part of putting it to a genre (amongst other things) hence saying house music is dubstep ( purism view) makes you look silly and your opinion void on the matter.
Not trying to start a huge argument, just saying what people who have listened to the pre-brostep sound think of the evolution of the sound.
Has anyone heard this yet? I'm sure it's old news but I really like it. It appears to be unreleased still, as far as I know. Benny Benassi is a well respected house DJ and producer. Been around forever.

came in here to post this. so good.
check this one out. I don't like it quite as much as I like Acid Wolfpack, but it's still pretty damn awesome.
16 bit's Noisia remix featured in the new far cry 3 teaser. It works really well for me. It's cute that the main character (or his friend) could be viewed as a bit of a "bro" Irony perhaps?
More of a loudness wars post rant than a critique of modern dubstep. The main ideas in this article hold for most styles. Audio engineers and producers have been trying to fight against the trend of over compressed masters but it's a hard thing to crack. The reality is that good sound quality and subsonic speakers (to appreciate dynamic recordings) cost money, money that people aren't prepared to spend.
Can someone help me with finding new dubstep songs. I really enjoy rap + dubstep, for example
I love foreign beggars especially (or anything british rap) but besides their songs and a few of Zeds Dead's songs, i can't find anything decent with rap lyrics. Can someone link me to some new tunes? I'll probably know the popular ones, but link me either way, i might not have heard it.
