Yes, there's going to be a bullshit explanation to them killing their Dragon. Unfortunately, I don't remember there ever really being a (reasonably current) power/stength comparison of dragons and mages in general. Especially given the "7 years have passed and suddenly some of the strong are now really weak, oh noes" that he just pulled. Acnologia is obviously a special case in terms of Dragons.

The real bullshit is putting in Wendy and Lucy over anyone else in the guild. Especially some of the members that weren't in the time bubble and have been improving.

They probably have the same elements as their Dragon parent.

If Natsu fought Igneel, Natsu could win, because Igneel's fire wouldn't be able to affect him; he'd just eat the flames. The same with Gajeel and Metalicana. But if Natsu fought Metalicana, Natsu would lose since his dragon slaying magic was meant for fire dragons.

Their dragon slaying magic was probably meant to slay their parent dragons, but nothing else.
tl;dr they probably only won because their magic was meant to slay their parent.

This chapter was definitely an upgrade. Awesome way to end it too (not the wendy thing, but that they were the last to get there). I feel as though stuff was happening in this chapter... which is sadly something not many manga give right now. Even KHR didn't retain its usual pace.

actually liked this chapter. feels like dbz all over again with all these overpowered guilds showing up for a tournament. also i dont actually think fairy tail is that strong compared to these guys. so it should be interesting. i just want the fight against dragon slayers to happen already though.

I just realized something about the dragons vs dragon-slayers. It makes no sense. From what we know, Natsu and Gajeel and such do not have special powers. They were simply taught by dragons. !All the moves they know were taught by dragons! the dragons, as mentors, would most likely be stronger than their students. Now here's the really bad part. The dragons taught them how to eat their element... IT IS IMPOSSIBLE THAT THE DRAGONS CANNOT EAT THEIR ELEMENT. If Igneel used a fire attack, Natsu would eat it. If Natsu used a fire attack, Igneel would eat it. And I'm pretty sure the dragons would kill the dragon-slayers in terms of raw power. If they couldn't, anyone could easily kill a dragon. I really hope the writer find a plausible way to do this... but he probably won't.

Dragon-slayers are actually dragons and were taught by their "parent" dragons because they're their children.

The old women who is the healer of fairy tail is actually a dragon, no reason other dragons can't take human forms.

The old woman who is the healer of Fairy Tail is a dragon from Edolas, where there was no natural magic and she wasn't actually ever a dragon. I think? At least that's how it was explained.
