when natsu won against Laxus he was already pretty tired + he was attacked by two dragon slayers at the same time. It was shounen magic that made natsu win like what happened vs erza's boyfriend.
Laxus levels with Jura and the entire Raven Tail which is pretty strong. I would say at least 2 to 3 times stronger than natsu.
Although saying that Gildarts weaker than Laxus is absurd. I remember a lot of chapters where Gildarts was hyped by the members as the strongest FT member(setting aside the guildmaster) by most character in FT.

Jellal on the other hand got defeated with natsu needing a help a nuke in their world
i think it's obvious who is better .. also jellal can go toe to toe with jura without using his main magic. Laxus barely defeated jura with his full strength.
That's the only argument i can give for now.

Well, it's pretty obvious Jellal is stronger, probably moreso than Gildarts. Gildarts disappeared for 7 years, Jellal has probably been getting stronger and stronger.
