Well technically wendy might have the most broken dragon slayer it's just maybe the she is not skilled enough in using it.
Yep. There's air everywhere. But she just uses it for breathing. Lame.
How many times has Markov 'died'? Lol and sumsaR are you referring to Jellal? He is one guy who should have stayed dead imo.
Edit: Oh I guess you are prob referring to the childhood friend. I heard that the author didn't want to bring her back but was forced to, which is probably why she has gotten shit for screen time and development since then.
He was supposed to be dead. After the tower of heaven there wasn't any evidence that he was alive. He came back when the baddies from one of the arcs revealed that they had him stashed in a coffin. Plus FT wasn't originally planned to last much farther after the ToH arc so he likely was considered dead at that time.
Jellal is at least extremely powerful which makes him interesting. Characters who are very powerful are always interesting in stories, it's the characters who aren't yet through stupid reasons overcome thoughs who are greater then them who ruin shit imo.
Eh I was still really turned off by the fact that he was found and stashed in a box somewhere waiting for the plot to provide a convenient place to throw him back in. He was pretty unrelated to the arc when he got introduced back into just a lazy way for everyone to find out where Nirvana was hidden. Power level doesn't really make anyone interesting because in this type of manga powerful characters either lose to hype the newest villain or lose to the MC in one of those "overcome those who are greater then them". Or they get the Gildarts treatment where they are too OP to have around much.
Besides if all the good guys were super powerful what would be the point of a manga? Just seeing FT roflstomp every threat wouldn't be fun at all so of course you have "overcoming the odds" moments.

when has Makarov ever died? hes come close 3 or 4 times
I don't think jelal was interesting due to just having a high power level. He was interesting due to he was a really smart and sinister character that has a huge relationship with erza. Adding him being powerful makes him a solid character which is interesting as hell.

ya how could anyone have possible predicted that the dude who can teleport and knows about face might have been close enough to rescue wendy
its just completely inconceivable
you know the one demon dude mentioned that it was odd that Face was so far from where they thought it would be so maybe he was unable to disarm it alone and moved it
The only problem I had with Wendy is that all dragon slayers have been show (in battle) to be able to replenish their powers/mana (however you want to call it) by eating their element.
Wendy should theoretically not be able to even weaken to the point of being unable to fight or move as the air is always present.
Plus, her air dragon slaying magic also give her healing powers and boosting/power up abilities, a viable support magician and battle mage (a monk/battle priest type basically).
And here, everything that can't be able to happen is shown to happen to Wendy to an extreme which is so wrong based off what we know about how dragon slayer and their magic works.
Heck, Natsu's deus ex machina mode always has him eat not only his own element, but sometimes other elements/magic to imbue himself with another's magic to power up yet Wendy can't seem to enrich herself with regular air in boss battles?

That is my main beef with Wendy's powers.
i think its about the quality not the quantity, even if shes constantly eating large amounts of air theres jsut not enough power present in it to give her that much of a boost in contrast to fire which has alot of power so he gets big power from small portions
which is consistant whith how she went from practically dead to full power by eating the air around Etherion
I liked this chapter. Looks like the climax of this arc is soon (seems like its rushing through this now). END is about to wake up and FT's mysterious thing in the basement looks like its going to make an appearance.
