To the contrary, being able to consistently produce an entire episode of a TV show within 6 days requires everyone involved to be unbelievably professional, or it just won't work at all. I suppose you can be opposed to the general concept, but that's why you get episodes about current issues. That's why you get Obama's speech, word by word, less than a day after he actually made it. That's why the episodes feel fresh and spontaneous and not planned months ahead like everything else. What's so bad about that i agree that they should work like they think its best, but I wonder how often they think: damn, this episode would have been much better if we had done this and this. Ideas that come after you have slept over it or when you have had some time to get the feel for it. also many ideas can sound awesome when you have them but totally braindead one week later. i enjoy giving ideas time to grow in my unconcious btw best joke in the goth episode was: "dude, its much worse than we thought!" "What? Everything?"

South Park is always so wildly hit and miss, glad to see they still have it though and it's not just crap ep after crap ep like some shows that are past their prime. *cough Simpsons cough*

What's so bad about that The episodes feel very very topical and dependent on the current news cycle. There aren't the same classics like the tower to heaven these days. Even Obama's speech or the zimmerman piece could have been a little better prolly. More time means they have the luxury to go back and rejig arcs or sets of jokes that may or may not work. They aren't constrained by the time to just take what they have and go with it. I mean I'll still watch but I don't feel the same level of craft is going into southpark that is going into say... Venture brothers. The level of dedication to the craftsmanship is what defines a pro. Being able to do it in a short time frame is not as important as being able to do it well within whatever given time you have to create your product. Anyway, it still amuses me enough that I'll watch so that's all that matters in the end I suppose.

Next week's episode looks like some good stuff with Ike being an asshole like that. Yeah the black twilight guy was really the only thing I found funny about the episode. The fatty comment at the end was also funny, but overall kind of a lame episode imo.

I suppose they save on salaries since they don't pay big staff and instead call in people for their tasks. SP does a OK job at being satirical. Lately it's been a lot more about doing parodies on pop culture. Really, I think the bar is too high for the show. The ladder to heaven ep comes to mind as making a real impact in the world. Zimmerman ep could have done it as well, but instead they chickened out out with some movie parody side story. Honestly, Archer is a lot funnier and Bobs Burger is more charming. SP lives on it's history for a while more, but people are getting tired unless they become more edgy

(Vote): Jakovasaurs + Show Spoiler + I would argue that "Mr. Hankey's Christmas Classics" is not a real episode.

"Wing" and "A History Channel Thanksgiving" being the exceptions. Yes they were fucking awful. What was wrong with "Jakovasaurs"? It wasn't the greatest but I never saw it as a bad ep. It wasn't even that far off an exaggeration of how god damn annoying Jar Jar Binks was in The Phantom Menace. Taking a brief look around South Park Studios, the most immediate eps that I remember sucking nearly above all others were.... "Summer Sucks" ...the one about a giant black snake (har har because it's liek a cock get it <_>?) firework that's destroying South Park. "Funny Bot"(Tyler Perry kind of salvaged this one a little) and, OH YEAH, "A Million Little Fibers" (the one about Oprah's vagina...that talks? Yeah..).
