But I appreciate the show for its (slightly) more subtle humor, too. Like the fact that Cartman pretty much traveled by plane crash in that episode, to the point that they barely even bothered explaining it. They just showed Cartman getting into the plane, then cut to a shot of the plane crashing, as if expecting us to assume that that's how he went around. To me, that's just hilarious. ![]()

I agree the part I laughed the most at during the last episode was "There's a black guy in the back!" then cutting right to the plane on fire and crashing.

The massive apple advertising and the usage of main threads(topics+messages) which even 3 year olds can understand have done the show no good. I am happy for those two, getting XX million per season and god know how much from the foul fruit. I guess its the way you need to design a show to have success nowadays. As long the network is paying, they will continue to produce seasons, gg.

You had to see way too many movies, keep up with the zimmerman case, etc to know what was going on completely. The episode last week was funny by it's own merit and you did not need to necessarily understand what was going on. That's the difference between a successful episode and a failure like this week. While this is true, the value of understanding the subtle references and nods does give it a distinct kind of humor which I can appreciate. Heck I'm not American and I get the jokes, hardly a failure I'd say. Last weeks' one was better though.

Hmm, I'm not quite agreeing with you for this episode. I haven't seen World War Z, all I knew was that it was a terrible movie. And after having seen the South Park episode, I know now of a few more stereotypically stupid things that happens in the movie. I can enjoy that. In general, though, I had exactly the same criticism as you some seasons ago, when they spent whole episodes parodying not some big blockbuster, but some totally obscure film nobody has ever seen before.

I havent enjoyed this new season though, I really don't like how "pretty" everything is, even in some of the weaker s2 and s3 episodes there were some epic moments just because how primitive things looked. ![]()

Why did they even bring up Stand Your Ground laws when the Zimmerman trial was a basic self defense case? Whoosh. It was about the absurdity surrounding the entire thing and how different groups overreacted to whatever they felt like overreacting to. Hence why you had the scene about the blacks rioting which never came. And then Zimmerman getting an instant electric chair for shooting a white person even though it ends up the white person didn't even die. Trying to take one part and harping on it is the wrong way to go about it since everyone can pick a certain scene depending on your point of view and point what's "wrong" with it. The entire thing was wrong and ridiculous, that's the point.

The entire thing was wrong and ridiculous, that's the point. Whenever they are being blatantly absurd, they usually have 1 or 2 reasonable/calm characters pointing out the absurdity. Like Token. Or Kyle.
