Hello folks,
so i played a game as Carry the other day (which i dont do very often) and we lost due to a promising midgame. Im just a 3k scrub btw so i cant really tell where it went wrong
The other team had only 4 guys because their shadow fiend left after he got firstblooded. I tried to be illusive and go from farming jungle to pushing the lanes out back and forth, but in the end i just couldnt do enough - and i want to know what i could have done better to be able to win this game!
In the laning stage i know i had a lot of mistakes when it comes to lane equilibrium and lasthitting, but in the midgame i felt good playing it out.
Some help or advice would be greatly appreciated

Don't have time to watch the replay but it sounded like from your text and the team fight summary at open dota that you didn't split hard enough to stop them from fighting and when fighting not having enough impact.

You are the initiation in that team in most cases, especially after you have blink to carry lifestealer in. So if you are splitting the team should not be fighting since they have no way to win it outside of a smoke where ogre goes first.

That looks quite surprising to me. Their SF leaves AAAND they have an anti-mage. you should have been able to close this one out in under 30mins imo. They should have (technically) been only three players for at least 15 minutes. And PL is pretty weak early on as well.
- PL 18min diffu as first big item. (but he had a 12min (!) aquila with brown boots, how could you let him farm and get back into the game?) - AM 16min BF, then 23min Manta.
Looks to me like you should have built towards a short, push heavy game and taken tons of objectives early on - you had at least 18mins before they were strong enough to do anything.
If someone leaves early, as the safelaner, make sure you use the 10min (if not the 5min already) catapult and double wave his tier 1 straight away. Fairly similar for the mid lane. Then take a rosh (with LS and his deso should've been easy at 20mins latest) and start on tier 2s. Ward offensively and as soon as they move out smoke on them.
I would've itemized differently for that purpose as well here I think. E.g. drums for early pushes, also bkb against that pl.
I suppose I would've been pretty diappointed with that Zeus Orchid crap, and especially with that elder trying to be a pos 1... I mean come on... you're playing against two heroes who will go Manta as early as they can and still rush orchid on Zeus? Not only that, it also took him 22mins to finish it. I'm guessing LS might have not shown up out of the jungle until 20mins in or something.... so yeah, your team was playing against you as well here I think.

I don't think they can stop you if you just group up and push after the laning stage ends. Who is going to kill your healing ward? If you however let the game go late, you are going to have a hard time stopping AM (especially in uncoordinated pub games). Your cores also don't match up well against PL in late game fights.
A lot of Dota is getting your team all on the same page. I remember a thread a year or so back about how in high level games players on the same team are on average not as spread out as they are in lower level games.
