CM is just a bit weak in 2v2 situations imo, not as huge as Lion/Visage/KotL. But she scales better, so after 3-4 levels she's great. So if you're snowballing, she's amazing.
And people tend to really underestimate power of Brewmaster. When you have such ridiculous damage output on 3rd-4th lvl with random crit, it can't be underestimated. Especially in these cheeky situations of 2v2 skirmishes early without items.

I'd actually say it's the opposite. CM's rank 1 nukes are stronger, but she gains a lot less on higher ranks of spells after her early ranks because Nova only gains 50 damage a rank and Frostbite rank 2->3 gains no damage.
Lion's especially awkward to mention because pre-6 his damage is actually quite low for a support because he only has 1 nuke, and that nuke's damage is heavily centered on the later ranks (Impale gains 70 damage per rank which is amazing, but it has 60 damage level 1, which is awful).

He's very annoying to play against because of his range, mana drain and hex. And pairing him with some slow/stun like Sven (just random pick), let's say is basically permanent horror show for passive duolane which is usually farming on bottom.
Not every support can provide damage like Visage :D And worst part about CM is her movement speed, so basically if you're against some kind of slow like Venomancer and you're not killing him asap to get her those boots, she's fresh meat.
Can't wait for Techies, because iirc it was only hero who's slower than CM in dota1.

I had someone pick Pugna in an RD game and he said that Pugna was a carry hero and he took a solo offlane (I was Enigma in Jungle) and our Lesh had some things to say to him. Pugna even cited some games by ViCi or another asian team where they used Pugna as a carry. I haven't watched that much games recently, but I'm pretty sure Pugna wasn't used as a carry. So, was that guy trolling or is that how they play pugna now?

that's how pugna's always been played competitively 2011-present

KotL skill build- should you avoid early levels of illuminate, besides the first point? Is Chakra magic level 4 absolutely imperative? Is it okay to skip level 4 if, in general, the team does not require so much mana? Is mana leak a must have?

It really depends on who you're laning with. Generally illuminate is prioritized, and mana leak you only need if you have decent kill potential (to secure kills) othewise just illuminate/chakra and get mana leak after 6.

I find that it's not even advisable for KotL to get mana leak because in many situations I get aimed down first in teamfights, so simply stepping into the area of war gets me killed. I suppose I should just sit back and spam illuminate.
Another related question: boots choice for KotL? Arcane boots seems redundant unless the team desperately needs it. The new tranq boots sucks so bad I don't even want to think about it. I don't see any point in getting phase. Travels are obviously desirable to allow mobility for you and the hero you are going to recall, but quite clearly KotL won't have farming priority to get that in a decent timing. Treads I could see working since it boosts HP, which is something KotL dearly needs. Opinions?

generally 2~3 points in illuminate, then 2~4 into chakra, then 2+ into mana leak and back to whatever you need if you want cookie cutter + Show Spoiler +illu chakra illu/chakra chakra/illu chakra ult leak/chakra leak leak leak ult chakra/leak illu illu illu stats ult

leak range goes up to 1k once maxed tranqs or brown boots. kotl doesn't really need to upgrade boots, tranqs are sometimes nice tho for +25 ms

Pugna is played either mid or in the safelane farm role (usually safelane carry) and when he's drafted, the whole team is designed around him. You get Pugna early lvls and arcanes/mek then you 5-man and take all the outer towers before 20 minutes then lay siege to their rax. Nether ward/mek makes your 5-man much more potent and you just blast away at the tower.

Thanks dead9. Still reluctant to use Tranq because of its poopy new incarnation but I'll give it a try I guess

kotl doesnt hit things, so there isnt a problem with getting tranqs. if youre really rich you can go straight for travels. its awesome on him

Tranquils op on Kotl, it's perpetual motion.
Get mana leak early if you're laning against Bristleback/Dark Seer, max chakra asap, get illuminate a bit later. Kinda like Q-W-E-Q-E-R-E-E-Q-Q.
If you're playing 2v3 or Kotl-Undying lane, which is ridiculously good, there is a reason to max Q and not even bothering to get mana leak. R is debatable, if you don't have some hardcarries against to protect allies with blind, you can skip it till 9-10.

One level of chakra won't be enough to spam illuminate level 2, let alone supporting mates. Mana leak is situational and his ulti is certainly not a must have at lvl 6, sure you want lvl 2 ulti at lvl 11 but there is no need to rush it, sometimes you need it at 6 sometimes not. Kotl is very flexible in his skill build, no need to establish an order.

Where did i say that it's enough? :D Usually my mate is grabbing bunch of clarities, if we're going to fight/survive.
Kotl is incredible in defence so it's sometimes waste to not have illuminate on 2 at 3/4 lvl, because enemies are trying to push as 4. And usually, you're not spamming illuminate. 2-3 times is more than nuff to take complete control of the lane sometimes. And 1-2 clarities is enough to sustain early levels.

i play rubick very often and build him 1-2-2-3-2-4-2-3-3-3-4-1-1-1-s-4, so i max nullfield over telekenesis. today i randomly saw a few rubick guides, where in all! of them i see a 1-2-2-1-3-4- start, so get 2 points in telekinesis, then max nullfield. (oviously after fade bolt) can anyone tell me the reason for that? the scaling from lvl 1 to lvl 2 telekenesis is the same like from lvl 2 to lvl 3. so why get the second point in telekineses.

watching EE's stream atm: what hero is that for dire last position (most right) ? never seen it before and dota-wiki says there are no new heros.
edit: hero is called "arturia" Oo

Telekinesis gains range as you level it up. I have no idea why people would recommend stopping at 2 points. Guides are pretty bad by and large.
4/4/1/2 at 11 is my traditional build. Null field is cute but it is too points-heavy to justify over hard disable in my experience. To each their own however.

edit: hero is called "arturia" Oo EE uses mods to change heroes to anime characters because he wants to. It might be jugg I know he has that hero modded but I don't know which others.
