Are there any good guides or really important tips that would be useful to help me improve my QoP play?? not many tips that are specific to qop. learn how to play mid and youll have an easy time early game with qop, since shes one of the strongest mid heroes. as for the rest, pretty much the same as any other mid. get runes, gank when possible but dont neglect farm. the only thing that is different about how you play her as opposed to other mids is you shouldnt be right clicking in teamfights early game. if you blink in and throw all your spells and then stay in one spot, you will probably die. so until you have survival items/better right click damage, learn to abuse her blink by weaving in and out of teamfights as much as you can
Yeah, I can win mid pretty easily, but I never feel that confident going to gank side lanes. Should I wait until 6 or 7 (ulti + level 4 scream)? Should I pretty much dive excessively because I have blink?
So what is the 'standard' strong first core item? PTs, maybe a nulls, bottle, wand, and then what? I've seen straight scythe, orchid, agh, and bkb. Anything that will make me stronger in team fights?

This makes them extremely powerfull to sniper heros, give chase, or to fuck up the entire ennemy team composure
Yeah, that makes sense--so does this imply, however, that my teammates have to initiate these ganks while I come in and contribute? I feel so naked and weak (easily targeted down) in the early/mid game if I am the one who initiates.
Thanks for the responses!

The hero is extraordinarily flexible, and can buy pretty much anything, but each item you buy has a significant impact on how your role develops over the course of a game. This is not something that a cookie-cutter answer will teach you adequately. As a "cookie-cutter" build you can play Orchid->BKB but to really master the hero you have to try pretty much everything, understand how each changes your game, and when and why you'd choose a particular set of items.

It depends on the game, but if you feel really vulnerable it might be wise to go for a BKB as your first big item.

Anyone know of a good Viper vs OD mid game to watch? Want to learn how to play this matchup in particular.

OD still has a damage advantage with regard to lasthits, though, because Viper's base damage is on the low side. Viper also needs to be careful about the level 6 kill because it's very likely that when OD hits 6 he will have no intelligence.
A lot of it comes down to creep control because Viper's harassment/range advantage only becomes pronounced if the creep wave is in his favor. Neither of them are bottle heroes or have skills that really disrupt creep equilibrium easily either so it really comes down to where the creep wave stabilizes.

I'd like to see two good players playing that matchup as well. I think I've done it once, had a worse block and/or was radiant and I got completely wrecked. I couldn't get a single last hit with the damage disadvantage and once OD was level three my mana pool was enough for 2-3 orbs max.

Thank you for all your answers, TL Community :D. Yeah, I actually did Orchid --> BKB in a game, and for some reason my teammates all said the build was trash. I was very confused.
Yeah, I am starting to understand how diverse her item builds are. Going to have to really have a strong command over her to really understand the role/hero.
Thanks again!

Is there a way to capture screen locations and put them on a hotkey like in SC2?
|
no. i think you can use space on the default key setup to move screens like in starcraft, but not 100% sure on that either
guess i was wrong

If you go armor/toxin/armor/toxin/armor you auto-win the lane as viper. OD cannot trade with you at all without taking significantly more damage and if he goes for last hits you just attack him. OD can't do anything to stop you because you do not rely on mana to lane and you can't be killed if you're rushing vanguard or mek, even if OD ults because of corrosive skin.
There's a point that if you're good at controlling your lane you can stand between his creep wave and tower and just drive him back because your right clicks are that much more effective with armor/toxin.
Forgot to add that this works against any hero in a 1v1 lane. Corrosive skin is pretty ridiculous in the laning phase (40/60/80 dmg + slow anytime they hit you) so it lets you run at heroes drawing creep aggro like a moron and still come out on top in trades. Also, whenever the hero hits you to harass they'll quickly learn they won't win the trade and try to retreat a bit, allowing you get a few more autos on them as they are slowed by armor.

That's still more or less dependent on superior creep control because if he gets a better block and the lane never moves from his high ground, you pretty much can't play aggressively enough to actually stop him from getting lasthits without making yourself an enormous red flag for ganks. You'd have to stand on his high ground to actually do anything to him.
Again, the issue is that neither hero is good at disrupting the creep equilibrium while both are very vulnerable to ganks, so the outcome of the lane depends a lot on who can stabilize the lane in their favor.

I have a simple question that probably sounds pretty stupid. I just started playing and I've been buying power treads for some champions like guides say and stuff, but they never mention which stat to keep them set too. I read on liquipedia that you can switch between them to increase effectiveness, but which one should it be set to by default? I have been keeping it on my highest base stat and that makes the most sense to me, but i'm not sure if that's correct. Thanks in advance to anyone who can clear this up for me

The "safe" default is always Strength, with your prime stat selected for farming/lasthitting. Otherwise, swap for various situations.

How many hyperstones would you need until attack speed is maxed?
