Puppey looked very lost for the majority of this tournament. Dendi is looking better than he ever did going back to TI3 at least imo, Funn1k and Kuro are playing great as well as long as they're not stuck playing something weird, XBOCT isn't XBOCT'ing too much; however Puppey looked genuinely concerning both in terms of drafting and actual in-game performance imo. Some of their drafts were just not good, some other times the drafts were decent however completely not suited to Na'Vis individual strengths and either the gameplan wasn't there to go with the draft, or Na'Vi failed at executing the same plan because it's far out of their comfort style. And like, those Leshrac stuns.. ugh.

Looking at the games during this tournament, combined with Dendi's comments during the DK/EG cast, it really does look like Puppey's drafts are too disconnected from the series the team is playing and he is trying too hard to outdraft his opponents without considering his teammates' strengths and weaknesses. Also Na'Vi as a whole need to buckle down and start playing heroes that make them a stronger team rather than heroes they think are 'fun' or whatever. Their ceiling is indeed 'absurdly high', but it's going to take a lot of #hardwork and #dedication for them to actually reach it consistently.

I know Dendi's been consistently playing a lot of Dota (at least he streamed a bunch these past few months) but the team hasn't played much together. Other than Dendi streaming a bunch, I don't know the practice habits of the others except that Funn1k streams a bit as well. XBOCT used to stream but I haven't seen him in a while. Puppey and Kuro were at GD Studio and I've haven't seen them stream. Of course steams are only a portion of one's practicing, but that's my two cents.

I also think Puppey is conforming more to the patch notes than what the players at Na'Vi are best at (pretty much just agreeing with what is being said everywhere), and I guess this is most due to the fact that they haven't practiced and played much recently. Hopefully during their next few boot camps, they all play the crap out of this patch and they find their style that fits this patch the best.

Well he looked good on tinker? haha i think of the 5 he's at least playing the best... but yeah this team gets dendi his good footing by constantly threatening the mid with the supports, but since the team hasn't been practicing, everything from rotation to decisionmaking has been terribly off.

No wards, not protecting hvost enough, bad support rotations, bad draft. Puppey and Kuro need to step up, especially Puppey.

I would like to see them use wards more proactively and creatively, I think it will really help out their game. these guys need to bootcamp hard, I believe in them though!

Did i say something wrong? Just look at the Summit, PPY is like "I dont care if we lose anymore, this is not ti"

And please dont draft Invoker for Dendi again, just dont do it.

Huh? Dendi's invoker carried them so hard in game 3 vs NAR.
On a purely personal note, I'd like to show Yellow the beauty of infinitely repeating Starcraft 2 bunkers. -Boxer

Dendi's Invoker is actually good. They got destroyed because the whole team is not playing well lately, not because Dendi is bad with that hero.

Dendi is such a great mid because usually his team gives him an early advantage which he never gives up throughout the rest of the game. With the supports roaming mindlessly, they actually put him in a worse situation and so he has his work cut out for him

Yeah. The game against Fnatic was not that good tho.

The worst part is that Na'Vi is the Real Madrid of Dota2. They can be the absolute best the game has to offer and then play so incredibly bad for some time. Yet they keep showing glimpses of their class so that you are even more disappointed by their following losses.

G2 against Fnatic was amazing, they won against their tinker/beastmaster combo which is incredible in itself already. Consistency, though.. is not their strength and they then lost G3.

The saddest thing about Na'vi is they have these flashes of great play like Game 2 vs. Rox and their group stage game vs. EG at The Summit, but are just so wildly inconsistent
