Good. Now maybe people can learn how to support, which is fucken hard to do correctly. 10 years of Dota and I still don't know wtf im really doing besides courier and vision battles. Knowing when and why to pull, to stack, to smoke, to farm, correct positioning, timings, limited item builds, how to die usefully and the list goes on and on. I envy good support players because they have a much deeper understanding of the game.

i don't think hero spam is a sign of upcoming role changes necessarily, because Fear's spamming offlane and i'm pretty sure there's no way he's switching with Universe. I'm more interested in the Sumail meepo picks that have been happening, because they make sense for his role and w33 has demonstrated that a meepo player is a big draft-changer

Its hard having so few EG games before the major... I really hope they use theier "break" well.
I hope they show up at Frankfurt with motivation to win and good drafts, if any of them are not on point, its gonna be an early exit.

Edit:
PS: What u guys think about the state of the team, are they gonna show up strong at Frankfurt? And will we see a Sumail meepo?

Yea, my thought too. Will not playing any tournament till Majors take a toll in EG? My guess is yes, I hope I am proven wrong.

Maybe rtz just wants to be like his senpai kuro and transition from carry player to support

Or perhaps he wants to prove he's a better support than kuro, thus ending the debate on who was right

or maybe ppd decided he has to play support and there's nothing he can do about it xD

You guys think the lack of official matches will hurt or help EG going into the major? They haven't even played 20 officials since TI5 ended

I think they were happy with the amount of games they got at MLG + the bootcamp they just had should put them at a decent state.
But I think they are gonna struggle at the group stage and come stronger when the Major advances to the playoffs (Classic EG, right? )
But im excited to see them again, and a tiny bit scared also.

They should be ok if they scrimmed alot but like they said official makes people tryhard so it's kinda the best way to practice even if it reveals too much to other teams.

It'd be a bummer if EG still hasn't managed to adjust after all this time since they are expected to put up a show (hell they won alot of tournaments not practicing lol)

But doesn't it also mean that no team is able to study them that much, giving them room to pull out hidden sick strats

Problem with sick secret strategies is if they get fucked up vs current meta bullshit. It has to be a secret counter to the current meta that isn't obvious.

I don't see how it's unprofessional? Disappointing sure, but unprofessional?

Ppd said a number of times that the teams he was most worried about coming in in a tournament where the ones which didn't participate in a lot of tournaments prior. So I guess he's fine with how things turned out.
And it's not like they could have played a lot more, apart from Nanyang I don't think they could have played more. They didn't have to qualify to anything since they've been directly invited to everything.

I think it's fine, I imagine that they also needed a bit of a mental break post TI. I actually prefer that they don't play that often, now I'm actually excited to watch the major given how little EG plays. I assume it's a really good thing for their brand, since tournaments will be incentivized to invite them given their fanbase and how few other tournaments they attend.

If I were a fan of another team, I feel like this tourney would be no different from any other in the past month or so, hell even week to week. Teams like OG seem to play 2 series a day, I get bored of watching the same teams all the time.

I have to agree with this, big tournaments without EG will always feel "smaller" because they didnt have the TI champhions there, the big team everyone wants to beat. The few tournaments they join automatically getts a lil bit bigger hype to it.

No lol, there's no hype, TI5 is long gone, there's a new season now. EG brings about as much hype to a tournament as Newbee brought to tournaments post TI4

There is always hype to find out if the TI curse is real.

I wonder if we will ever see a DOTA grandslam with a team winning all the Majors. That would be the most impressive event in Esports history.
