Thought Misery played invis heroes for them. Find Riki a strange hero is a support but some of his talent work so much better as a carry. Has been out of Meta for a while.

I always thought from my noob perspective that Riki > BH even with track. Riki permantly invisible so you can literally roam the map forever, the gank set up is also way better, 1 stun from someone plus cloud and they can't do anything. Plus the free "blink" with backstab. Yet BH you can track at level 6 but if you have a bad laning stage it can take you 12+ minutes to get it and then it might be to late to influence the game. Also he just doesn't scale as well as a Riki. As you said his talents are better than BHs and he can do more damage.

When Riki was in the meta last year? Maybe longer i forget, they used to just play him 4 and build diffusal and he would do alot of work. Also at non pro level Riki very fun with aghs xD

Looking at the qualifiers going on at the moment.
ESL One Birmingham Major, LGD have failed to qualify, so have VGJ Thunder, meaning it is a chance for us to close the gap on those above us in DPC, however LFY and iG are playing for the spot. We are 500 and 600 points behind LGD and VGJ.

Think many items would be good with Riki. Think skull basher would on average do 3 stuns on max trick of the trade, desolator, but also pure damage items. I know RTZ plays a lot of morph so think a combo of this heroes could do serious damage even without Morph can use ToTT. Cloak and Dagger gives 100% Agi as Damage. So could just destroy people.

With FTM about to secure themselves 450 points minimum, EG getting pushed down to 10th now! We have to score points and this GESC tourney should be the one they target for top 2 as we need the points desperately

Ok FTM choked hard! Carry on xd

First time seeing EG in about 2 (or 3?) patches. Hopefully they adapted as well as Mineski and LGD because VP, Liquid, and Secret especially look shaky.

I think the patches have benefited EG's style; they are one of the most efficient teams in terms of getting gold out of the map.

Idk how you can say Mineski adapted well and Liquid looks shaky in the same phrase when Liquid just finished 2nd place and mineski 5/6th place

but i hope EG steps up as well, the scene feels kinda off when they're not good

I watched most of the games with Liquid, VP, and Mineski. Look at their play from before & after and not just the final placement.

Liquid mainly focused on their superior individual skills. Their draft was pretty lackluster.

I see where you guys are coming from and i agree to your points. They lost games due to their subpar draft and being outplayed but i see this tournament as an improvement for them and a sign they are about to return to their dominant status.

If anything, i would rather have EG adapt as well as Liquid than as well as Mineski, wich to me seemed a very good team that got figured out.

With that said i'm most probably being biased here

I am counting on this team and Optic to make techies shine in pro-play. Though no Aui_2000, the introduction of techies might be a big factor for EG as NA teams traditionally favour more of the hero. EG also had about 1 and a half week to practice the hero after release in CM mode without any sort of pro-circuit commitment.

EG had alot of time to practice and to be fair the GESC format now Vega pulled out is good as it is a 8 team group stage round robin so lots of games for them to practice in before the knockout rounds. Should be hopefully good month of May for EG as the ESL Major is next up after this.

Can be disastrous also if they crash out of both without any points. That would mean EG would have to be atleast 3rd / 2nd at Supermajor or get thrown into qualifiers with Complexity, Optic and VGJ.Storm.

Yeah it is make or break but with how some of the teams have shown vulnerabilties at the moment in the likes of VP and Secret because "they have nothing to play for" so to speak as they are already qualified, might open some doors.

Finally some long awaited EG action, the stakes are high but I'm sure we can get a lot of points.

Is it just me, or has the new point system lead to that the top teams seem to be holding back a little at the moment to avoid fatigued and get figured out before TI.
Some teams seem to more try out new heroes and strategies then actually win at the moment.
Think EG has a real chance to win one of these next tournament, just hope that it's not like last year where they developed really nice strat that TL figured out before TI, and left them looking ordinary in TI.
