Fear never shows any emotion so Misery picks DK and Viper for him every game. Then Misery throws Fear a bone by giving him Visage every 7th game.

They should be able to win against Newbee and LGD. After that, the bracket will be hard, but I believe.

Newbee is not in a good place right now, if we lose to them ill be rly dissapointed. They are having bad drafts, and I feel theier core players arent in top form (I havent watched all of Newbee games at DAC).
LGD is a rather scary team atm tho... But I think we got what it takes to beat them, thats going to be a close series.
And I gotta admit, I wish VP was on the other side of the bracket, they are just so good atm... Think they are winning DAC.

PS: Some months ago Fear was only given Lycan and DP, now its only DK, Viper and a little bit of Visage. Im curiouse to why that is, did Lycan all of a sudden get bad? Doesnt suite the meta anymore? He is still a good answere to Gyro, and Gyro is almost in every game. They just prefer Fear on a little more team fight/fight type of hero?
Other teams are still picking DP, she looks strong given the right lineup around her, why isnt Fear getting any more DP?
And pls, pick more Naix for rtz, he is so good on that hero

Yeah for a guy that can clearly play pretty much every hero in dota 2, he does get draft specific heroes. Oh well, maybe they are saving strats xD

I mean fear was very versatile but he already declined quite a bit.

I think it makes sense to put him only on his most comfort or best practiced heroes since he is clearly not the focus on EG now

That is true... My point is more that our drafts are rather easy to read in some cases, and the best teams will know what to do... Fear needs alott of practice before TI, he should atleast have a pool of 10 heroes he is super comfortable with.
He plays great in some of our games, but sometimes he just feel a little useless if u know what I mean... Our loses arent always because of him, im not trying to blame Fear here, I just think he has the highest potential to grow in our team atm.

I think Lycan needs to be more ahead, and therefore more farm. Recently they've been giving that farm to Sumail. Also, I think in the drafts, a DK/Viper + 1 doesn't tell you much in first phase. However, like you said, I think they are over doing it. As a side, I think another reason is EG has been unable to make the Tiny work out in Fear's or Sumail's hands.

I think EG will beat Newbee (tougher than most people expect - they went 3-1 to end groups before losing 0-4 in tiebreakers) and I think EG will beat LGD if Fear gets a decent lane matchup against Maybe or Sumail lanes mid in at least 1 game.

I honestly think LGD has the upper hand here, but EG might have a card under their sleeve. If it wasn't dac i would favor EG any day of the week

ppd is the only one that's ever been able to unlock the insane hero pool that Fear has, but it takes a lot of pre-planning, oddly enough. The point is to establish Fear on "edge meta" heroes to push teams to ban them, then it opens up the rest of the draft further in the tournament. ppd used this approach in every tournament that he had Fear with him, and it was extremely successful.

However, he's about the only captain that could pull that off. Since EG has used a different drafter than ppd, they've generally taken the approach to view the pick for Fear as simply the meta pick to structure around. It works solid enough for doing the "follow the meta" approach, which is the way most teams end up playing.

After Misery became captain EG has more build the strategy around having RTZ on heavy farm core, fear tanky mid that can handle being alone, and Sumail as early game core that creates space. Think reason that fear play so few heroes is that there are few tanky cores, just wonder why we don't see a timbersaw. Seems like Sumail is focal point of strategies and has greatest range in heropool for this team. It makes sense with limited time to practice that they choice some stabil cores and maybe with time expend. Just glad to see they found a style that suits them.

I feel like why Lycan is not being picked, is because Lycan do need farm (at least Helm and Necro 3), and EG's farm priority is RTZ/Sumail/Fear in that order (or depending on the game, things can be switched between RTZ and Sumail). DP is still getting picked, but with the long cd on her ult, is not fully suitable with the type of game EG's trying to play rn, which is the early push strat/shoving lanes. But then again, DP is still being picked tho, and yes I do think she is a very strong hero atm.

Fear got a DP today :o was beautiful haha.

Newbee were well and truly destroyed which is nice, now onto LGD tomorrow in a hard game, hopefully we can draft well and play as well as today and then there will be no problems as they were all on point.

I thought Newbee would give EG a challenge because EG has been picking predictably AND Newbee had 1.5 days to prepare solely for EG.

News flash: EG still picked predictably.

I stand by what I said yesterday. I think the key matchup is Fear vs Maybe. As long as Fear doesn't get dumpstered, or they send Sumail mid for a game to help out, I think they'll win.

I had the same "fear" about Fear going 1v1 against Sccc, but he didnt get dumpstered at all... I think its ok for EG to even lose mid, as long as they win the two sidelanes. Games are going to be exciting

Im heading to bed for 5 houres of sleep, alarm clock for live games tonight :D

Yeah the Sumail comes online so they can 4man gank squad if need be if rtc needs space to farm. If both Sumail and rtc win their lanes then well the enemy is in trouble because they will just push towers and get fatter.

LGD played really well, but tbh I think that when EG's playing a 1/2 core heroes, it's really hard for them to win. the Enigma pick is kinda greedy, and altho I can see Batrider working, depending on only lategame Luna is not ideal (DK has no damage).
