How can you call Penta a lesser team when they 2-0'd OG in the qualifiers? Just because they aren't a big name?
Game 1, I think the issue was with Puck. Their lanes were weak and they couldn't do enough damage. Against VGJ in galaxy battles, Puck made their lanes weak. I'm not sure how good of a pick it is right now, might be a niche pick.

So we'll have a rematch against NaVi, let's get us some sweet revenge

So apparently NaVi got crushed, can't wait to watch the games once I get home

Was just plain outdrafts, they played well but Navi could not do anything. But think other teams will fist phase ban Lycan and Tusk from now on. Both cr1t and Misery played Tusk so nice they can have Tusk and give Cr1t other signature hero like Rubic.

So EG is catching up to the better teams. Excited to see them play against VP.

Oh my god im so happy and annoyed at the same time. Today EG were on FIRE, played amazingly, crushed TNC and schooled NAVI in both drafting and in the game itself. Amazing performances by everyone....but then my minds goes back to day 1 and and start of day 2 and im like wtf EG, how can you be brilliant and then be so poor it doesn't make any sense to me. Mind boggling!!!
TNC series was great, but the NAVI one was great revenge to after embarrassing ourselves on day 1. The beat down in game one was great, watching rtc song 4 people at mid T4s whilst fear is taking a whole lane of rax was disgusting and beautiful haha!
To note though, like ironcell said, if you give sumail that laner who can sit and just farm and contest the enemy he is great. Every game he was top cs with rtc coming out of the laning stage and then he would just sit there and before you know it his Omni/Abba is fighting with a radiance drums. Rtc storm game was nuts as well holy crap, both games i guess but the one vs TNC he was just straight destroying everyone left and right. Fear, put him on Lycan every game and i think we are unstopable, no matter his laning stage he gets a necro 1 and hod by minute 15 and just kills towers or people was great to see. Cr1t rubick is also a joy <3 he had some stellar plays and Misery looked way better today as well, great moves on kotl and was doing good as tusk in the NAVI series.
What a day! Now we face our old friends VP tomorrow, can we crush them?! We do that and we can get some well deserved points from our Asian adventure this January.

Well, I think part of the problem for EG is how much they should emphasize the lanes. I seem to recall more often than not, EG came out ahead on lanes by 3k+ net worth, only to throw it away and lose due to mid game execution. Or, they would get destroyed when the opponent had too much team fight and EG not enough, whether EG came out ahead in lanes or not.
They also did the opposite and emphasized the late game while having weak lanes with mixed results at best.
I think EG is most successful when Fear(normally) or Arteezy can create enough pressure with Sumail(and Cr1t/Misery) that forces the entire opposing team to react, while the other farms (usually Arteezy). In these situations, EG has been coming out even/ahead lately. I do not like Sumail Puck because EG plays too passively with that 3rd core. It may be warranted in some situation in response to a pick, but I don't think it's warranted with how much they were picking it.

Just caught up on the games from ESL, happy to see EG take some nice wins. Just hope Sumail doesn't get bored with the offlane role, as while he has played some of the space making heroes, he has been playing a lot of the more "boring" heroes...Omni, Levi, Abba

P O I N T S :D#
Beat VP again 2-0 beautiful series, they gave Fear Lycan and he did Fear things!
|
So good the VP winstreak continues haha :D Can't wait to watch the games!
Liquid will for sure ban Lycan but I'm sure the bois have a plan for that
|
Liquid can throw better curve balls, they can pick tuskar themselves, GH pudge is really good, rubick is a strong pick for them as well. Not to mention Matumbaman's lycan ofc
|
Right, Liquid is one of the big boys atm for sure and it'll be a tough match. Last time they clowned on EG pretty hard but I'm sure this time it'll be much better for us.

Yeah going to be a battle for certain heroes, EG will probably want to have first pick and if they don't they will ban the lycan for sure.
Might see some Naga tomorrow too.

I wonder if eg will actually pick oracle huskar, since vp banned BOTH on the first phase.
Now that i think about it, why didn't they banned only huskar?

Now that i think about it, why didn't they banned only huskar? That was definitely a head scratcher on VP’s part. Was that they were playing in scrims? And it’s not like VP are strangers to Viper who destroys Huskar now with just a value point in Nethertoxin.

Probably they were trying to prove a point, although they failed miserably. That's the only logical explanation taking in consideration their characters.

Yeah they 100% scrim vs each other alot, you can hear multiple interviews from VP and EG players that discuss how they play in scrims vs eachother. You have to assume Oracle Huskar draft has been done, rtc said in the game when they loaded in "Ramzes why did you ban my oracle????" so not sure if that was a sign that EG have played that or if it was a niche pick or what.
