Not sure if we are going to be in the Dream League S9 qualifiers now, might give that a miss i don't know though as nothing has been announced. But they have a week off until those start over 2 days the 3 days before IEM Katowice. Does make alot of sense to potentially miss that tournament and then make sure you are ready 100% for IEM as the bracket EG got is insanely hard to get out of...

Also those groups are so stupidly unblanace and wtf EPICENTER not inviting the team who didn't lose a game until the grand finals of your last tournament? What a joke Also i think we should just move EG to Europe! The qualification there is another level of easy ![]()

Euro qualifiers are obviously at least as hard as NA. If they were so much easier, why do Euro qualifying teams have far more points than NA ones?

Getting to the final of the previous tournament doesn't mean mean they get an auto-invite when the tournament was about a year ago. Plus they've changed roster. Outside of Liquid/Secret, the next highest is OG with 665 points and then Kinguin with 90 (tied with Immortals). Point being, EG didn't get invited because the invites went out before Galaxy Battles and Genting where EG performed well in both. @Pandemona: The upcoming events ticker is not always the best because it has a limit to what it can show. Then, when 1 event has 6 different headline events for each region (NA, EU, CN, SEA, SA, and CIS), it doesn't show very much

You know OG is a team that is in the European qualifiers of almost every event, right? Removing OG from consideration makes zero sense given that they're the very team that means qualifying from Europe would be harder for EG than qualifying from NA is.

The fact that Navi got a direct invite over EG or even Mineski makes no sense to me. Seems to me that the 2 region (NA/SEA) have been overlooked and they are looking for crowd pleasers/popularity contest instead with the event taking place in Moswcow

Happens also in china tournaments. Think if they made a tournament in SA they invite more teams form there. What is point of directe invite system if you are only allowed to use ranking, then Valve should replace direct invites with rankings. We also have to see SA teams in every tournament now, you can just as well complain about seeing them over EG. I like EG and think they will qualify.

You need to please the local fanbase - and not having Navi would not be an option for them.

Anyway was just a bit of a rant as i thought inviting finalists from previous tournaments would make sense imo i don't know maybe it's just me.. xD Also only 1 team in the NA qualifier seems very competitive too. The groups also so unbalanced its untrue, going to be a very tough qualifier imo. Tournament is also single elimination bracket and BO3 GSL group stage too. Yes I agree with the local fan base issue and sponsors to draw in crowd. But making a comparison of SA teams to Tier 1.5 EG/Mineski is beyond me. Much less Navi which has just gone through a shuffle whose squad strength is unknown. At least the China invites look decent on paper from the previous installments. Additionally Epicentre is a Major and not a Minor. Not something you would just give invites to freely. However what's has happened is gone and decided, nothing much can be done and hopefully the teams that deserve to be there will make it and may the best team win.
