For one of my classes I have to watch 6 hours of some idiot discussing business strategy with other idiots (upper management of companies). The shocking conclusion at the end of the first 2 hours was that it's probably ok if only 10% of your employees understand the strategy of your company, because it doesn't really matter to most of the employees and would only be a distraction from their critical work. I'm mostly salty because this is one of the few times I've had to pay money for a textbook for a class (well, video in this case). 75$ for conclusions so obvious only a baby boomer CEO would need them explained

I've got a x1 carbon at work and damn, that's a fine piece of hardware.
for huge excel files (from 10mb) i'd still revert to a desktop with a proper CPU though. Really disprupts the workflow when you have to wait for tabs to be switched or lags / spikes when scrolling longer datasets.

I'm looking for a new laptop right now and so far the X1C is one of my top choices. It's probably one of the sexiest laptops I've seen, and obviously Thinkpads are always on top of things with Linux support which is a big plus for me. Idk if the keyboard can compare to old Thinkpads, although I've heard good things about the new ones. Any major issues you have with the laptop? How is the battery life for example?

Only windows related issues.
Keyboard is fantastic too write on.
The battery life I can't comment on yet regarding the x1c, but I've got a t480s at home and it's about 5 to 6 hours of working on moderate brightness (60-70% I'd say) and no vídeo but wireless.
Goes down a bit with maximum brightness but you could go through a working day without a charger with a bit of smart battery management.

I'll try and see about the battery next week but would also check out the notebookcheck review. They're not half bad but I'm sure you know about them

Man this game has a massive toxicity problem. I quit because of it many years ago. Decided to try it again lately, played with some friends, and have massive amounts of fun! Why did I ever quit? Play 3 solo games just now, and get spammed "kys", "fucking noob", "reported", "ez" etc, mostly by guys who couldn't even comprehend that they managed to fuck up completely on their own. Hell, this even happened in 1v1 because I had the audacity to lose.

I played 3 games, and I'm quitting again. Playing with friends is fun, but they're not always online, and I won't get any better if I can't ever play solo due to this community.
