I find it a recurrent issue with all story-driven triple A open world games. All the bloat becomes very apparent by the midpoint, and it's clear they didn't know how or when to close the story elegantly. You progress through a fairly personal story then BAM, new stakes out of nowhere that are usually never explained or resolved properly. Even the beloved TW3 that got praised for its story was victim to this. + Show Spoiler + Also it's super obvious Micah was the mole all along. Rockstar didn't even obscure the fact he was an asshole loose cannon who antagonized the whole gang, and everyone else was cool and probably not a snitch. Holy shit Stan Lee is dead. | ||

Mine has got to be cross code because that's the only game I've played that came out this year... Regarding games I've played in general it's definitely Botw. Honorable mention goes to Hellblade, which I unfortunately cannot play for more than 30 min to an hour due to the visuals in the game. They make my head hurt. Especially the narrow fov during combat or the blurry vision sequences. Coop game wise I'm torn between broforce, Samurai gunn and stick fight: the game. For 2 players it's adventure pals.
