I didn't realize there's so much hassle just getting paycheck if you work for the government (the previous work I've been with just ask my bank account or just hand cash at the salary day)
Also flash still hasnt won a finals against effort lol (at least the best bw doesn't own everybody)

RDRD2 impressions. The game is staggering in scope and detail, but the controls were designed by a crazy person. The UI is kinda drunk and the game leans way to hard on its mini-map(a flaw in many open world games). The pace of the game is slow and intentional. You don’t run and shoot. You barely move and shoot. It is a game where you need to cock the hammer on a single action revolver before firing.
The writing is good when you are dealing with the camps and central plot. The characters are well realized with a lot to say. There is an almost overwhelming amount of dialogue in the game. The game isn’t afraid of slow, quite moments either. Outside of the camp the writing is hit or miss. Some are well realized small stories, others are trash western writing.
So far I am enjoying it, but it is almost overwhelming the amount of work that went into this game.

tbh i was super hyped about rdr2, but then i watched couple hours of streams and i was honestly very bored by the actual gameplay other than that the game is above everything else that has ever been done, but idk if i would actually enjoy playing it

You have to embrace its slow pace completely. You can’t fight it, the game won’t let you. You just need to be in the world, enjoy slow moving though the space and encountering all the weird non-sense that is peppered through the world.

It's a brave move from Rockstar isn't it? They could have easily made GTAV with horses but instead made a slow-burning experience that demands your time and attention and isn't afraid to turn the game into a crawl. While there's some room for complaining from what I've read, I do appreciate it when a studio like Rockstar is willing to break the formula that was so lucrative last time.

I enjoy it, but it is close to the peak of self indulgent design. It is an artistic choice that will rub people the wrong way and irritate people. And that is totally valid. It also does not mesh well with their cumbersome controls, which sometimes cause you to enter long animations you can’t cancel because you forgot what button picked up a body and what button searched a body. The button for searching is not consistent and you search a lot of shit in this game.

I bought it and became very bored very quickly. It's slow, the gameplay is not anything special, and the story is not engaging imo. Or, at least it hasn't been for the first 4 hours or so.
The entire combat system seems to consist of using autoaim over and over to kill just about anything instantly. Trying to aim with a stick is horrendous so you just blast through everything without thinking. Literally haven't found a reason to upgrade anything cuz they give you a aimbot for free at the start.
I don't get how this game is popular with anyone outside of the wild-west cosplay community
Someone recommended Thronebreaker, the new single player Gwent game and Iv been having a lot more fun with that.

Red Dead Redemption was the Witcher 3 of its era. People had never seen a game like that before. This game gets a lot of its hype because of that.
The combat isn't a huge part of the game, but I agree it is pretty meh. I don't dislike it, but there are few huge shootouts in the game. Most of the combat is you matched up against 2-5 people and is over in moments. The build up to those encounters and the ability talk people down, surrender or escalate is more fun that the act of shooting itself.

On another note my toilet won't flush properly and I don't think the plumber will stop by tonight. I hope one of my neighbours (whom I have never met before) will be a good samaritan and let me borrow their toilet if I need to poop.

ye going out isnt exactly an option xd but the pressure's piling on so im bound to start focusing on it and only it for several hours straight before the deadline

there's either a calvin&hobbes or xkcd strip (or maybe both?) that makes the joke that the only suitable mindset for creativity and work is abject deadline terror
