Now that TI is over I got weak and wanted to buy battlepass. Mainly for Gaben announcer. But I get errors when clicking purchase so I guess its off the market. Ok Gaben, since you wont sell it to me, I pretend I never got weak in the first place. | ||

1440p is a lot more real estate than 1080, but i'd take a 1080p 144hz over a 1440p 60hz monitor unless you're just using it to watch movies. I think 1440p 144hz IPS is the dream but those are pricey (550+ for lesser known brand names) | ||

you see this in the 2018 gaming laptops with 144hz screens with no gsync (but you get optimus) and reviewers didn't seem to have a problem with it using gtx 1060 max-q even though they weren't pushing 144 fps | ||

I've got a 1080p 120hz monitor and my machine didn't run AC:Origins on more than 70-90 fps on a 1080 (though I don't think I ever optimised settings). Destiny 2 was glorious though. I hardly remember tearing in games I've played on it. Personally I'd love a 4k display for work but not yet for gaming, and as I hopefully never again have to use my own equipment for work, until gpus are able to handle 4k on 60fps reliably I won't be buying one. The new rtx models supposedly have usbc out which I do like. 2560x1440 goes a long way over 1080. A co-worker used a 4k display for his programming stuff and it was good. Though I wouldn't bet on getting in that many hours of programming at home to make the purchase worth it. | ||
