The majority of people currently working full-time in esports have probably done a ton of work for free (most internships in esports are still unpaid). There was just no other way for these people to get experience, contacts, etc. Not saying it's fair, but it can be necessary and in some ways "worth it". | ||

Interns are entiteld to minimum wage under certain conditions, in Germany. Thats about 8.80€/hr. If the internship is longer than 3 months, you're 18+, not previously long term unemployed, doing a facultative internship (not a mandatory as a prerequisite of graduation) or part of specific sectors that are exempt (idk which tbh), then you're entiteld to minimum wage during the internship. that means, many firms only take students that have an internship as a mandatory part of their studies. caus then they can underpay by up to 1,000€. When I did internships back then my 660€/month was rather high in my field. Big companys like E.ON do pay like 3k for valuable internships though. | ||
