Grandaddy's on antidepressants, and it's better than the liquor he used to self-medicate before that. Sometimes I worry that we're quick to medicate when it's not actually needed, though. it's especially frustrating for me because I don't have a good way of being like "I was 90% depressed before this medication and now I'm only 40% depressed" or something, *especially* because I used to do a lot of drugs and it was very clear (relatively) quickly whether they were working or not. Whereas outside of extreme cases most of these medications are very gradual and hard to make definite observations about (at least for me). and yeah as I've (somewhat? idk how explicit I was lol) mentioned before I used to straight self medicate with drinking lol, been in recovery for a while but booze is not good for depression~ | ||
