Basically Chess has been popping off on twitch lately, which is mostly due to GMHikaru (top 20 classical player and arguably top 2 in blitz/rapid). He's been collaborating with a ton of big streamers and his stream numbers have been insane the past 1-2 months. The other week he re-streamed/casted a chess24 event on his own stream, which he was also a participant in. Magnus Carlsen (current best chess player in the world, and of all time for what it's worth) called him out on twitter for taking their viewership since he's one of the chess24 owners. To make a long story short apparently Hikaru actually had permission to stream the games on his channel from chess24, and Magnus was clearly not aware of it. Also the real issue is that Hikaru is pretty much the only reason the tournament had viewership to begin with, so this whole thing just makes Magnus look like a jealous bitch

Aside from that there's also been a ton of elitism from top chess players who are somewhat annoyed by Hikaru bringing in so many new people to chess.
