It seems like you are conflating multiple groups of people at the very least? Those that are shocked and those that didn't like the way the episode was done aren't necessarily completely overlapping groups. It just sounds like a gross over simplification to dismiss people who are making critiques.

But the argument that mass murder with dragon is out of character who burned a father and son alive for refusing to kneel to her after defeat is something I fundamentally disagree with. Dany has always been blood thirsty and happy to use violence to terrify her enemies. She has always talked big about being a just ruler and never backed up much of it with her actions. She is still the same person who watched her brother die without an ounce of remorse for the horrible way it happened. If you contrast her with someone like Jon, who was reluctant to kill people who LITERALLY stabbed him to death, it gives you a real idea of how much humanity she does not have.
Again, I totally understand why people are disappointed the series is so rush. It is a bummer. The creators and cast are moving on. But Dany has always been a vengeful, blood thirsty person who wanted power that we hoped would turn into a good person. It never happened.

GoT and MCU fans have one thing in common, they consider people who spoil others the worst people in the world, but the second they've seen it themselves they're perfectly happy to openly talk about it and spoil others because how could they spoil people if they can no longer be spoiled themselves?
I've had to unfollow multiple people on twitter, not simply because they were spoiling shit but because the same people had been whining about others posting spoilers just a day or two before
I'm sure the same applies to more fandoms, but in recent years I've seen these two groups exemplify this trait more extremely than I've ever seen it before

I've been from the opposite camp for some times. I don't believe spoilers can ruin anything and often spoil myself on some movies just because I don't want to waste my time if it is trash. I found the second watch through of Lost with my wife to be far more enjoyable and it made me like the series a lot more.
But I do respect that some people really want to go in blind and I'm sorry if I spoiled anything in GoT for anyone.

The word on the street is that it has good performances, but lacks in a lot of other ways. Tolkien's story as a writer is one that is hard to capture, especially in the framing of a movie about him loving his wife. From all records he did love his wife a lot, but he confidants in writing were all men. He had really close friendships through his time in higher education that kept it touch through his time serving. And the entire narrative behind the books shaped by his experience in WW1 and his son going to fight in WW2.
And the story behind the book's success in the US is even funnier. Hippies loved his book and its themes of nature vs mechanization and war. A rising of heroes that didn't want to fight, to empower just rulers who would promote peace. All things a stuffy, uptight Brit did not like.

I definitely hate getting spoiled on stuff but I also thankfully don't follow anyone who's into the same kinds of games/media that would talk about it.
Although we'll see how many people I end up blocking if/when Trails of Cold Steel IV: End of Evangelion (or whatever the subtitle's gonna be) launches in NA for PC.
