Can't imagine he'd do it. Do you have a real source or is InControl just saying "I heard" and spreading drama again. Because I haven't heard anything from Riot about this. I also remember InControl trying to stir up drama about Naniwa leaving Quantic and that was complete bullshit. Well this is from another comment: I know he is not the most reliable source, but I was at PAX with them and I can tell you that this news/rumor was indeed circulating around PAX and The International regarding Riot from various prominent personalities. And to be honest, they already have the non-compete clause which even though it makes sense as a business, is pretty immoral given that we are trying to grow eSports together and they put a block on other games that trying to grow. So this wouldn't surprise me at all if it is true.
Also, their non-compete clause came to light in this exact same manner. People behind the scene talked about how Riot prevents league from having other Dota games, and people simply kept dismissing it because it couldn't be true. Till months later 2GD comes out and pretty much spills the whole beans. So I would not be so quick to dismiss this..
Edit (Saw this on r/LeagueofLegends):

It's been reconfirmed by nitestryker, he's involved in ECAL (a NA Dota 2 eSports league) "For now it's restricted to the LoL proleague but apparently they are also in discussions with MLG which has further ramifications about other tournaments."
To be honest I wouldn't put it past riot seeing how they are trying to control "their" pro scene. They are financing all major and midscale tournaments, paying the top teams. So I could see Riot doing this. So RedBeard (Riot's guy in charge of eSports) has been informed. Here's his reply. A.k.a. InControl is full of shit trying to stir up drama gain. False alarm people. Just to clarify, this rumour seems to have started when someone tried playing Chinese Whispers with the new LoL rule about sponsored teams sending in more than one team under their name in the same league. (So for example, Navi sending in Navi`Red and Navi`Blue to The Defense for example). And then InControl decided to play drama llama.
thanks for clearing it up. it did seem extreme

https://dotabuff.com/items?date= Yo guys, some graphs for you. Animal courier has 13.60% win rate and aegis has 97.16%. Obviously donkeys are SOOO underpowered and rosh is imba as fuck, wtf. (how those stats even work wtf)

So if you have a courier sitting in your inventory instead of using it, you're doing something wrong or trolling or it's like manner wards when you've already won. On the other hand, if you have an Aegis still sitting around in your inventory when the game ends most likely you snowballed the game and your hard carry is destroying everyone.

So if you manage to get an aegis and your team has a courier you have a 110,76 % chance to win. It's impossible to lose !!!

Holy shit, I don't know if it's just me but TI2 definitely increased the skill in my MMR group (in solo queue); as an example I reserve my pick until last so I can round out the team, which usually has me playing supports, which I actually prefer however the role we needed was a carry, so I chose morphling and had the supports buying wards, harassing in-lane and setting up kills and TP'ing in to towers immediately upon me calling 3+ enemies in a lane.
I know this isn't anything spectacular for those who often play with friends but for someone who generally solo queues (haven't tried to find other Aussies who serious about Dota2 yet) this was amazing! I just had to post it, haha!

Must have watched TI and been like "supporting and helping out teammates is a really good thing"
|
no.... it has always like that in high level match making...... you just never been here yet. 1 step up you will be facing stack of 3-4 people and start losing miserably. You can tell if a support is dedicated if they refresh the wards at 6-8 mins mark.

I dunno, after TI2 I've been getting absolutely terrible players on my team... like people who pick Tiny and try the carry build and fail.
