Does the hyperlink say something, but secretly redirects you somewhere else? That's a hoax. Copy the source code and google it. If the first few links look sketchy, then it's probably not a good idea to continue. You can also just google the parent address (whatever you call it, like www.teamliquid.net/). Also, view the original email (gmail has this option). See what's the original sender's address. From somewhere like asd34gs23@spam.com? Hoax. Finally, if you click on that website and it asks for any personal details, it's definitely a hoax. Edit: Ninja'd twice while typing out an extensive way to discern a hoax. And yeah this method works for any potential sketchy email.
I forwarded the email to another account and opened it. It was a tinyurl or something similar, and it brought me to some file share site asking me to dl something. Screw that
Thanks!

If you ever open sketchy links and are using firefox, make sure your adblock and noscript is turned on to prevent any shit from happening to you.

Does anyone else have an odd number of games played with a random hero? My games played list says I have 12 wins and 7 losses with Witch Doctor when I've merely randomed him a couple times. There's absolutely no way I've played 19 games with him considering I only have 100 games logged ^_^ Plus we lose almost all the games I get him because I'm pretty terrible at hard support. My next highest hero is Windrunner whom I've actually picked a few times at 8...

yeah its glitch, it says i played lycan like 20 times and kotl 10 times but i dont think i have ever play more than 5 games (both combine).

Well it is certainly a really important item for Invoker, but I don't think you should rush it unless you are owning the other team pretty hard and the victory seems to be almost inevitable. For most of the times, getting a Drum(if your team has none)+Sheepstick+Force Staff will be much better instead of a rushed Aghanim. Because if you farm right, you should have it completed probably around 20 min or so, which also means you don't fully have the Invoker's full arsenal (assuming you probably picked Wex/Quas or Quas/Exort or super rare Wex/Exort build) or the mana pool to tap into that yet. Force Staff allows you to run away or get into position for ganks, and a Sheepstick will help you to disable that pesky Carry/Disabler etc. in the fights.
I'm not that knowledgable with the game but maybe an Orchid could work in some situations too. Not sure which ones though.
After you have these items, imo Aghanim's is a no-brainer.

I try to get ags about level 22. This gives me time to get core items (phase drums force sheep or euls+BKB) but still have it when I want to spam out my really powerful spells (if you go wex, you have low exort untill this stage anyway, so meteor/deafeningblast/sunstrike/spirits isnt that strong, while nado/EMP/alacrity isnt that strong untill you have high wex). Only when you have high W, E, and a reasonable Q, is it really worth it to get ags.
But really, ags anytime level 17+ is fine.

What is the next step to getting better at dota? Playing pubs I don't seem to be getting any better. My winrate has dropped over the last few months.
Will valve ever release a ranked ladder/tier system? I can't seem to find any information about it.

drums is fine on voker even if your team already has someone else carrying it

But if you aren't quite that fast, Sheep is definitely a better choice, as well as BKB against certain lineups.
Back to my streaming ideas; I'm really encouraged by the fact that no one has told me my stream has made them gouge their eyes out so far, so I will probably start streaming tonight or something. This will be interesting. ^^

In the lategame, yes. I always get at least 2 items before it though, so drum and force staff if I'm playing quas/wex, force staff and eul's if I'm playing quas/exort, then scepter, because it's not great before level 17. Sometimes I'll even get hex before it too, if we need some extra CC for a hero like qop, AM, lycan, or such.
