I would rather see them trying something like Visage, with the gargoyles not being affected by the song. Would still be gimmicky, but NA is just awful in this iteration. What annoyed me was how rarely I saw the carapce actually being used. I saw NA repeatedly getting hit from kotl when the shots were rather obvious. NA does not have a lot of hp to begin with, so refusing to use it means you are down to nearly half health already. I remember playing against a pudge as NA and he came so close to killing himself when ever trying to hook.

Do you think people would still be interested in watching or should I just not bother?

I think I'd be able to do it quite well. The problem is my internet is pretty shit. It seems that although I can achieve stutter-free streaming, it is very blocky. Here is a recording (messing around in EVE, but the idea is quite clear): http://www.twitch.tv/firebolt145/b/330981765 Do you think people would still be interested in watching or should I just not bother? Mhmm... that's really hard to judge from the eve video. Making videos and uploading them is a no-go for you? Much cooler than streams imo and basically the same in the long run.

What I would love to do is basically stream myself pubbing while talking to people in Twitch chat, answering questions etc. That interaction does not happen when making videos.

New to Dota myself, so I'm working on eating up all the information I can! :D

"Dear Dota2 Fan, We would like to inform you that you have been invited to participate in our Dota 2 Beta. We only have 50 invitations left and only 1 Beta invite for each Dota 2 Fan is allowed. Grab Your Beta Invitation Now! LINK Sincerely, Dota 2 Staff." Looks pretty sketchy to me. Is this a legit key?

When I got my beta invite it suddenly popped up in my steam account and I never even saw a mail. Wouldn't click. (Where does the link go to?)

The "we only have 50 invitation left" part and the asking you to click a link instead of opening steam just gives it away. My invite was this, right under an image of an envelope with the dota2 logo: "CONGRATULATIONS! YOU HAVE BEEN INVITED TO PLAY DOTA 2 To get started - launch Steam, locate the game in your library and follow the instructions to install the game. As always, we rely on your feedback to improve the game, so please drop us a line and let us know how we're doing. To install Steam, click this link: www.steampowered.com/about Thanks, and enjoy your game! The Dota 2 Team"

Does the hyperlink say something, but secretly redirects you somewhere else? That's a hoax. Copy the source code and google it. If the first few links look sketchy, then it's probably not a good idea to continue. You can also just google the parent address (whatever you call it, like www.teamliquid.net/). Also, view the original email (gmail has this option). See what's the original sender's address. From somewhere like asd34gs23@spam.com? Hoax. Finally, if you click on that website and it asks for any personal details, it's definitely a hoax. Edit: Ninja'd twice while typing out an extensive way to discern a hoax. And yeah this method works for any potential sketchy email.

On September 04 2012 10:10 NB wrote: what race is tide exactly in dota2? in dota1 he is a god from the profile The Tidehunter known as Leviathan was once the champion of the Sunken Isles, but his motives are as mysterious as those of his people. We all know the importance of the Drylanders' shipping lanes, how empires may rise and fall according to who controls the open water. Far less is known of the submarine lanes, and how the warring tribes of the Meranthic Diaspora have carved out habitations through endless undersea skirmishes. In the fragile treaties between the Mer and Men, we can glimpse the extent of the drowned empires, but their politics appear complex and opaque. It would seem that Leviathan tired of such petty strife, and set off on his own, loyal only to his abyssal god, Maelrawn the Tentacular. He stalks the shallows now in search of men or meranths who stray into his path, and with a particular loathing for Admiral Kunkka, who has long been his nemesis for reasons lost in the deepest trenches of the sea.
