Regardless, so long as he stays the way he is (even with addition of range), he will still be too easily stopped without massive amounts of gold. | ||

Don't be mean now... He couldn't really avoid the chain frost because they are being dived in the fountain already... Meepo would still die anywhere he goes. Though that buyback probably was stupid. | ||

Zeus is not weak, the problem is that pure nukers that want farm have no spot in the meta. A mid hero without any utility or lategame is considered worthless, regardless if they can win mid or not, qop has a lot of good matchups and she almost never gets picked. | ||

Lina is one of the extremely few heroes who was not picked at TI4. She's a terrible example. Perhaps you meant to say Skywrath Mage? Oh, wait, let's look at the difference there. Skywrath Mage does jack all when someone picks up BKB, is squishy as fuck, and has far greater range and a full 30 higher base movespeed. Before you say that he's never used as a mid and thus is a bad comparison, Dendi has used him as a mid in competitive to good success a few times. Zeus' problem is a mobility problem, plain and simple. Give him another 5-10 movespeed and 100 more range on Lightning Bolt, and he'll be picked in competitive. Shadow Blade is basically a pub-only item and needs the most attention. Force just needs a slight buff, because it's generally in the right area. Blink maybe needs to cost 100 more gold. Oh, and this is also a product of other aspects of the meta. The critical part of the game requires all heroes to mature at more or less the same time, and it's right when you can reliably have Blink Dagger on all your cores. There's simply no other item that does what Blink can do for the price point. Why would you have something like half a Manta when you could have a Blink Dagger? Vici versus Newbee showed that at the highest level, games end in 20 minutes. There's no reason to play for the lategame, because Blink does shit for you right now. | ||
