I'm sure I've shared this before but my first game of dota was single player vs bots on an AI map. After running around for a while I eventually found the secret shop. Which I thought was very cool since most of the items in that shop were very clearly only for single player as how else besides cheating were you supposed to get 3000 gold?

Sooooo many of my games back then were 1v5 vs AI as the ultrafast racecar rangedmelee Jah'rakal.

Well I had bot buddies who stole my starting gold.
I also worked out that headdress was the *only* 603 gold item in the game and habitually went to lane with that as every hero. I liked chen because I could steal their lane creeps lol.

The worst thing was figuring out those recipes and how to get those weird OP items some people managed to find.
It became a joke, but wood was truly confusing the first time you clicked on this game on Bnet.

well i sometimes couldnt find secret shop anymore in my first games, its a secret shop afterall

I mean it kinda depends on how you define a dota game since I just ran around like an idiot and did nothing for my first like 20 games vs bots, whereupon I stopped playing dota until dota 2 so...
It's possible i'm not referring to my actual very first dota game, it's just the first thing I remember.

IESF ("international esports federation" or some shit) planned a tournament with seperate mens and womens tournaments much like the olympics segregates all events by gender, whereupon neckbeard white-knights on the internet complained that they were banning women from some of the competitions (Dota 2, for example, didn't feature a womens tournament).

first hero ever picked in wc3 dota was lion and i just ran around praying to god their hp would be low enough so i could press f and do big dmg

First memory I have is me playing Nerubian going mass point booster. It seemed good casue it gave HP AND Mana. I mean what else is there to have ?

I played panda the first game and used the ult to escape. I ended up buying an aegis too. My friends had me eating treant owls for most of the game too. -.-
