Generally it's used somewhat facetiously when people are feeding "it's alright guys space created" in order to justify the feeding. Technical example: 3-4 of you push top tower without your carry. Even if you don't kill the tower, so long as you can make 4 or 5 of them group up to defend then you have "created space" for your carry since he can farm literally anywhere else on the map while they sit top defending. Huge success (assuming nobody died). | ||

it can also be so that the rest of your team can take an objective. think about the nature's prophet that teleported into a lane just to get ganked by 4 other heroes while the rest of the team is busy roshing. he made a decision that forced the other team to have to deal with him and ignore the rest of your team taking a vital objective. however, most of the time, as sno_man said, it's used to justify feeding. it's rarely intentional or effective in a pub  | ||
