So apparently I'm in the 90th percentile, that makes me feel a lot less awful about my Dota lately. I wonder how it actually works though, if it uses your previous MMR to pre place you. Where do you get percentile info? Anyone below 4000 is considered bad isn't it?
5% 1100 10% 1500 25% 2000 50% 2250 75% 2731 90% 3200 95% 3900 99% 4100

TC seems fine, active and silly.
she's not Earth Spirit tier.

Wasn't Very High MM like top 2-3% anyway? Meaning that if you were queueing Very High MMR games it should be expected for you to place above 4k?

Those values are not accurate, maybe if you add 1k to them you get a better picture.

People severely overestimate the level of the average Dota player.

Your hidden MMR is definately taken into account for the placement games. It's not like "real" ELO placement at the beginning where you're mixed with everybody. With only 2 games i'm already up in the 99% which wouldnt make sense if it was the latter.
By the way those numbers about percentiles are probably highly innacurate right now

I cling to the belief that everyone is trash.

New players can go up though

wonder what ranks the pros get
|
we're going to have to wait to see but I do suspect ranked MM being different from unranked. Believe it or not pro players have actually been asking for ranked MM because a lot of the times in unranked even games that has reputable names can be so dumb and have no meaning.
now that some number is at stake, games in high mmr ratings could definitely look different from the way things were before.

competitive_rank: 4733 competitive_rank_uncertainty: 825 After 4 games. I'm surprised how insanely high uncertainty I have compared to everyone else I play with, who hovers around 400~. I guess I just need to play more, but damn exams going in the way
I'm also surprised how wide rating variety the people I play with. We have everything from 4.7k to 2.9k. Makes you wonder how the system in place can even find remotely close games for us.
