It's terrible for joining fights so long as there is more than 2 disablers on the opponent's team. Silencing one guy doesn't do ANYTHING, and having treads + orchid leaves you at a miserable hp pool still from lvl 7-lvl 15. This is coming from someone who has played over to 60 games of brood prior to this patch. Orchid will look pretty good in an early teamfight maybe if your opponent team consists of at best 2 nukes, otherwise you're free gold because you don't even get to steal back enough hp with your ultimate without much items.
Don't take anybody's word for it of course, feel free to spend your next 30 games at orchid-first brood and attempt to tp assist your team in a 5v5 and see how useful your silence is in keeping you alive.

Because Manta Style and Necrobook are both far more useful than a Linkens.

Yes, sure if you have 8k+ gold at sub 15 minutes, the game is rather easy to win with most heros.

PT (1400) + mkb/bfly/radi is no way near 8k+ gold lol (~7k+), obviously in an advantaged game and probably as a dire brood, 10minutes 2towers with good farming jungle skills and may be a kill or two. Funny times to think back of beesa's infamous battle brood with some ridiculous items at 15mins.

If your intentions are to push all day with manta and necro, you buy manta and necro and don't waste 6k gold on linkens. :D In 50+ minute games all item builds get out of the window, and sure at that point a linkens might be useful (like if you're the most farmed hero on your team and the enemy has one key disable you just can't get hit by, for example), but it's not something you really plan for.

Eh, not like buying a pms/wand/consumables wouldn't take you over 8k.^_^ But again, if you get such an easy lane as your teams hardlane, you're probably winning regardless of what you're buying.

To be fair, for as long as there's been a dota2 forum, there have been strategy guide threads for specific heroes, and the discussion was centered around the thread creator.
So if I don't agree or don't want to contribute to that creator (since it's unnecessary to argue in someone else's thread), I would not post in it. I haven't seen an announcement that these hero specific threads are different or some instructions/rules how they should be used.
Edit: nope, I checked, the original post is someone else's guide. So discussion is going to be centered his builds, his suggestions, his items, etc., and it is not truly a general discussion on broodmother, it's a discussion on his broodmother build.
Edit: the strategy forum guidelines have something about guides, not hero threads. If a particular discussion doesn't fall under the mantle of that guide, then general discussion might be just as appropriate. Can't we have admin created general hero threads, then list the guide in links or spoilers? I'm not sure if other people see a difference, but it feels awkward to have all discussion to be rerouted into someone else's guide thread.
