Hi TL, I'm currently thinking about creating a a TI3-thread for the following purpose:
For various reasons, many people (*cough* myself also *cough*) can watch only a limited number of games, but would like to stay up to date with TI3 by watching the best games/replays. So what about a thread (without much discussion) to gather the information (and not much discussion) about the games that took place?
Also I would like this to be a spoiler-free thread, for people in "bad" timezones who barely can watch games live. Not much dicussion in the thread, because that's what the live-report-threads are for, just basic info the games aho want to know which replays are worth watching.
I don't have too much experience with creating opening posts, but if I would do this, I would like to put a little effort into, so I'm asking here if people would care about this.

Either have your team's pennant equipped while watching a live game of that team OR have a compendium while watching a live game. AFAIK the chances from both stack so you have a greater chance if you have both a compendium and a team pennant. Items drop for firstbloods, multikills, kill streaks, ally denies and victories I think. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Right now, pennants aren't working at all though. Hopefully Volvo fixes soon. :/

One of the perks of the compendium was item drops at TI3.
Receive virtual item drops while watching matches.

Just wondering why its called Dota 2.. nothing really new is added into this gameplay.. its almost identical to the previous version. I remember there was an outbreak where some Valve staff were going off about Ice frog being one of the biggest douches in the team... saying that each hero must look like Warcraft 3's version counter part but make sure it was legal (as well as Valve releasing a statement on how un-true the leak was)... Now looking back, some of those info looks pretty accurate (in terms of Dota 2 heros looking so similar to Dota 1). I excepted new mechanics, but if I could re-read the false leak again and see how much different the gameplay is to the one we have today.. I might be able to investigate if there was an internal break down within the Dota 2 dev team....

It was always intended to be DotA 1 off the WC3 client...
