Yea I've begrudgingly accepted this already I try to avoid the NA scene as much as possible.

People underestimating how hard it is to build a dota pro-team and i dont think EG management side could help any how (their staff are mainly added post sc2 anyway).
What do you need in a dota team: (list by number-role-difficulty to find) 1-captain-hard 1-carry players-easy 2-tank/initiator/solomid- medium 2-support/wardbitch- EXTREMELY HARD
The reason for support to be hard is you cant train a good support player using pub game. Support players always has to talk the most since they have the most free room to look around unlike carry players who have to stay focus and last hit. These are the skills you will never be able to get in pub games and when you build a team, you should always start building from the support players but carry.
This is why when i heard EG is grabbing both Fear and Maelk in one team, i was wondering if they(EG) really know what they were doing. Now Playmate left, Misery left.... If maelk is leaving I wouldnt be surprised if EG just drop their team and grab captain planet or Zenith instead. Even the strat they played today is made by bulba, captain of itsgosu....

A captain planet pickup would be pretty awesome.

Well i think the biggest problem is that in the west dota has been amateur hour for a long time. Sure there have been great teams in EU etc. but they werent 'esports' on the level that it is today. With big teams picking up players under contracts and expecting professionalism that hasn't existed in western dota since.. well forever. Team's dying, clan hopping, silly drama, egos etc., have plauged dota because it wasn't such a big deal to make teams, reform teams etc., dota was like a throwback to bnet days where you just reform a team whocares.
With esports growing to the point it's at now all of that has to go out the window. Dota players need to realize they're going to be headlining one of the next big esports and either get serious about it or just play casually. Soon there will be no more stand ins, postponing tournaments, or no showing because sponsors and teams wont allow it when dota is back on the big stage. Professionalism on the whole needs to improve in western dota.

Professionalism tends to make things less fun.
I like fun.

The Sc2 scene is pretty professional and I find it entertaining still, there has to be a line drawn between pro's and pubbers though especially when they represent an entire scene. It's not bad right now because the scene hasn't exploded, but it will and more professional teams will bow to the eventual witch hunts that we are seeing over sc2 conduct.

I guess if you consider players fucking up tournament schedules having games played hours later, having results skewed because 1-2 stand-ins are playing or completely no showing to events is 'fun' we have very different definitions.
I'm not saying teams need to start streaming while wearing infamous shirt and sport coat and start minding their language. I'm saying they need to take their teams seriously, stop forming flash in the pan teams, practice, and show up as a real team to events.
You think that makes the game unfun? lol...:boggle:

Maelk: Whatever, I don't know what it takes to win fucking dota anymore Just running around playing support for a team that doesn't work together No idea if it's my lack of motivation or Jimmy/fear or what the fuck is wrong I can't figure it out
Alternately, you could confront Cody (dunno who cody is) with your suggestion for a winning team, Fear will probably come with his and sometime he will come and hear my opinion on what is best for EG. Then I can explain what his situation looks like
I told Clinton he should focus on all american even though he wants to keep me
I think it would be a natural exit for me since they'll have to find someone instead of me
He doesn't want LC anyways. Cody = Evoli. I assume that is who he is referring to
Yes they are referring to Evoli who is EG's team manager.
Pretty scary thought, if they want to go all American, under the EG name. They wouldn't settle for anyone but the most marketable American players around which will come down to Demon Fear Bulba and 2 more. Pretty shocking to see that EG thinks so poorly of their teamwork together, yet they are still a team that is in the top 5 right now.

Looking at their names, they should be navi's biggest rival, but instead they are just one of 10 or so EU/NA top-teams.

i think maelk will form a new team and EG will go all american team with fear+demon+bulba+?+?.
lets hope maelk picks KuroKy
|
Yeah I agree, you can see, when they clicked back before Pajkatt left, they were the team to beat. Then even after Pajkatt left and the lineup was Maelk Lacoste Misery Playmate and Fear, they were doing very well when you can see their teamwork 'clicking'. Then they went on a small lul period but Demon has really stepped up quite well but something just isn't right htere.
These players can all potentially be a top 2 top 3 team, but right now you can only safely put them in top 5/7.
Also, I have a feeling a lot of teams are going to form up more based on country, so all the people assuming Kuroky will join up with the Danes, its possible but I doubt it. Teams need to communicate as best as possible, and get some stability in their lineups given that The International 2 will probably be within 6 months. I talked to a friend who told me Pajkatt left EG because he wanted to communicate well, and join a consistent lineup, hence why he joined all the other top Swedes with Loda Mirakel and Akke over at CLG/xP. Smart move now, because you can see that these guys are working very well together, Pajkatt has gotten even better and better with that lineup, and if they stick together for another 5-6 months they will surely be one of the favorites to make it to the top ~3.
I think Fear Demon Bulba +2 is a given, possibly Korok and maybe one other from the GoSu lineup?
On the euro end of it, I wouldn't be surprised to see Pusher-street join Maelk, and thus Lacoste. Then possibly Playmate and Misery back together to form the most recent euro MYM lineup minus Mania, with Lacoste in that place. Currently though I think Mania is Quantic's best player so he's probably comfortable staying there for now.

The main issue I see here is that if it's just Demon, Fear, and Bulba, whatever team they make is not going to strictly be better than ItsGosu. Korok won't be joining that team, and Korok + Pig is just as strong as Demon and Fear in Dota 1 (they've probably won more money in Hon than Demon and Fear have in Dota 1). EG has one main benefit though, and that's their resources. They're one of the highest salary teams in Dota 2, and I think that could be quite a draw. If I were Bulba I wouldn't be so fast to jump ship, but maybe they'll make him a good offer.

they wont go all american that for sure... they have learned from all the players they dropped in sc2 squad to get puma JYP... I wouldnt be surprised if they pick up Zenith tbh... SEA is generally cheaper to sponsor as well.
