Epi is an okay caster but he just hasn't gained any interest from fans. I don't think that's completely because he's not in the limelight (didn't he do all of the defense group stages last year when Tobi was in Asia for like 3 weeks?). I think if Epi was someone like Triumph, the same amount of exposure would have been enough.Does joinDOTA need another caster? They already have Epi, who I thik is not a bad caster, but he just doesn't get any space at all. The only matches I've seen him cast are bad simultaneous bigpoint games nobody cares about. joinDOTA does nothing to promote him. They will for example postpone The Defense matches when Tobi is busy casting Starladder. They just want Tobi to cast everything. A different joinDOTA caster is never going to kick off, because joinDOTA trained their viewers to think that if the match is worth watching - Tobi will be casting it, if it;s not worth watching - a different jD caster will cover it. A new caster won't change anything, unless joinDOTA changes this approach. jD also need to get somewhere closer to the level of like BTS or there's no reason for people to approach them with new projects. And that means they need more people. I don't even think the competition against jD at the moment is all that strong. GDStudio only do like 2 events per year, BTS is 80% asian events. D2L is pretty much the biggest thing jD competes against. And I think that space is going to get a lot tougher next year.

Don't have a source other than Reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/DotA2/comments/1gyrdk/versuta_got_banned_for_illegal_casting_alienware/ I wonder who will cast TPL now, if I'm not mistaken he is their official Russian caster. Again ?!?!?!? This guy never learns.

The last 2 days, Tobi was streaming Bigpoint and he barely got over 10k viewers even in the finals. Blaze gets flamed all the time, but TPL gets pretty good numbers nowadays. About Epi, I think the fact that he doesn't get any space is precisely the problem. I like him as a caster, but I think I watched him maybe three times in total, because he doesn't cast anything worthwhile. And no, last years The Defense groupstages don't count as limelight, especially when it was scheduled so that Tobi doesn't miss as many highprofile matches as possible. I mean, maybe if they gave him Starladder matches to cast, he could get some viewers going. Even Sheever gets high viewers from Starladder from time to time. joinDOTA's coverage needs to start looking more like it's from a studio, right now it's Tobi in front of a camera. And you're right, more people would help with that, so maybe that's what they need.

EMS can't even do GSL groups properly. They are running 3 dual tournament groups and they don't even play them out one at a time. They play like 2-3 matches from one group, then one from another. It's real stupid.

Played few games today, but nothing similar happened so far.

That's what I'm saying, a caster isn't everything. The tournament, the teams playing and the time of the match all contribute more to the number of viewers than the caster, I'd say. Of course they aren't. But that doesn't mean jD can make do with 1.

They have two, and the second one is more or less useless with the way joinDOTA is managing their things. Which is why I don't see what a third one will do, unless jD makes some big changes.
