I'd rather not have this channel fill up with people who aren't planning to join our inhouses, lest it undergoes the same fate that 'teamliquid' underwent.

From PCGamer interview. They've been saying this for a long time, I wonder what their real plan is. Because they mention pro players generating so much value almost every single interview they do.

Well, knowing valve it might take forever for them to make or come up with something, but i'm sure it'll be quite amazing.

Yeah they keep saying that but it's just communication, they're doing nothing. They could implement a lot of things, like following a pro for x$ a month, or whatever, but they just say that to be like "we love progamers". They should stop saying it and start to show it ? Liquid's pennant took months and months, and they're allowed a pennant just because they're a TI team, so they'll sell a lot for TI and take their 75% share or so on the sales. Where are DD's pennant, 4Friend's pennant, and all of those teams that need money's pennants ? They keep announcing stuff, but they do nothing. On the other hand, they never forget to release the weekly new chest and its key.

On the other hand, they never forget to release the weekly new chest and its key. Following pros for x$'s a month is probably not a business model that works apart from for the same people who pull in huge streaming numbers. Thus the people who need it the least. I think pennants take so long because the system isn't finished, it's not like it's a lot of work from their side. I thought the whole pennant system would be redone. Either way, I don't think it's easy to create a system that will do for players what tickets does for tournaments. But they bring it up so often as if they either have done something big or are doing something big, when currently Dota players probably have it worse than most other eSports especially compared to the amount of fans they have.

I'm still hoping for a twitch like subscriber option or fanclub kind of thing. Totally. Subscribe to a player. When he's playing pubs and decides to make them public, you get a notifier in game, much like when a tournament game is running. When a subscriber watches the pro player get a multikill, firstblood, hero deny etc. one subscriber will get an item drop like in tournaments. They should also find a way to pipe in a camera and a way to show sponsors on the screen. The "streams" should be available to anyone to watch, but only subscribers have a chance to get item drops. Easiest thing they could do.
