But its not a bijection :S
The only barrier to truth is the presumption that you already have it. It's through our pane (pain) we window (win though).

i dont think anyone in the history of dota has ever reach the right side of the graph, most are still somewhere middle.

What?

People who yell: Chuan, ROTK, Ferrari, dendi, xboct,.... If you think good conduct goes with high skill level, you are having a huge misconception about the game.

The graph is pointing out a correlation, not showing a rule. I actually agree with the correlation.

I think that graph is simply a PR kinda image that is reflecting the good side of a product while censored, blur away the negative side of the matter. Fact is, behavior overall in gaming culture is mostly reflected upon the geographical culture where the player is coming from. And for dota, statistically russian is holding the majority sit(since chinese beta key is still limitted) which make the graph quite inaccurate from my point of view. Yes having such graph will definitely bring more players into the game, makes PCgamer readers look at dota2 from a more positive point of view but overall, all of those are resulted by the failure of the graph in reflecting truth about the game.

You guys keep talking about a old news graph rather than focusing on the confirmation of the global release before TI3, that's a much bigger deal

So I haven't seen the article yet, but couldn't that graph maybe just be a product of PC Gamer Magazine and not Valve, thereby requiring little to no discussion

But other than fucking up the MMR and possibly the servers there isn't much to discuss unless I am missing something?

In addition to that, it's obviously not accurate. It's only supposed to give you the general idea, the real graph is probably much messier. Valve doesn't even give you any figures.

Anyway, just because some pros are bad mannered doesn't mean that the graph isn't correct. Compare the amount of bad mannered pros to good mannered pros and you'll notice that the good mannered pros far outnumber the bad mannered pros. And that's what the graph is trying to tell you. It isn't saying that you can't be good if you're bad mannered or that if you're bad mannered you're average, it's saying that it's more likely that you're not amazing if you're bad mannered. That's all.

Good thing this graph has nothing to do with the reality, so you don't need proof.

i'm starting to really dislike these live game stats, like bkb timing is pointless if the player gets it as second item, obviously that will be longer than average if bkb is on average the first item. similarly win rates for items, blink on sd is 79%, well...yer...if they can afford a blink your team is pretty far ahead anyway. meh. just me whinging

sometimes when the game is already over I sell all my shit and buy dust/tp/branch/wards/courier just to raise their winrate

It works in bot games and practice lobbies, not in real games.

If you want some facts to back his assertion, I don't see why you wouldn't want the same from that graph. There is 0 information about what data they used to come to that conclusion, what do they consider a "jerk" (which can be subjective), what are they using to measure "skill". Throwing Valve's name around the graph and imposing it as truth doesn't really make it meaningful at all withouth a proper study to back it up.

To me, the graph is a suggested correlation. I agree with the correlation based on personal experiences. To come in and say 'I don't feel that graph is true based on my personal experience' is fine, but to come in and say 'that graph is false, look at X and Y pro gamers, they are rude and prove this entire graph completely wrong,' with baseless facts without having sources is a bit over the top.

Uh, that graph seemed pretty tongue in cheek and based off of someone individual experience to me.
Not sure why so many people are taking it seriously.
