I hope most of the people know, that You don't have to watch the whole replay, You just load it and manually skip till the last seconds and it still counts as game viewed. So watching 20 replays is like 20minutes. Yea, but as i mentioned earlier in this thread. Valve needs to add an option to mark a game as watched so it counts as though you watched it. Sometimes i watch it ingame, sometimes i watch streams. And due to items and couriers that require me to watch it ingame i have to download replays for games i already watched.

I usually load the highlights or just jump in then skip to middle see some action and leave.
Done with the west all, and quite a bit of the east. Still have a bit left tho. Never use the auto-spectate command for east kinda messed it up .
Oh well still plenty time to get through all this stuff. They need get the mounts and that out nowwwwwwwww.

My problem is that i already watched the games ON A STREAM. But in order for the game to count as watched for couriers/item sets/what not and for keeping track of what games i have already watched, i NEED to download a replay for each game and then watch some of it. There should be an option to just list a game as watched if you saw it on a stream.

But then everyone wouldn't even bother watching the replay, and would just say they watched it on stream.
|
your wording was awfully ambiguous so it wasnt very clear what you meant but if you are watching it on a stream theres no reason why you cant just watch it in the game client and if you say your at work or something and cant open dota 2 then just remember the ones you watched at work and dl those specific ones later when you get back and take 20 seconds to get credit for them, i dont really see the issue

It's time that is wasted on games i already watched, by adding an option to just click a game as watched it'd save a lot of people a lot of time. It's just incredibly inconvenient to have to download a lot of games.

They'd arguable support the tournaments even more, seeing as how they would both buy ticket and increase the stream ad revenue

You really don't see the problem?
If you let people just pretend they've watched a game, the view count becomes meaningless. Which may not be a major problem in itself, but at that point there's no point counting views at all. The options are essentially: have players who watched a stream spend 30s downloading and loading the game, or abolish the viewing system entirely and just give everyone the maxed courier.
Obviously, I'd prefer the current system.
|
Oh no, people can get special effects on their couriers, whatever shall we do. Sorry, no i don't see that as a problem at all.
|
Well why do you care, then? You obviously have some reason for wanting credit for games you watched elsewhere.
|
I can't believe G-1. Watch some games, go to bed, wake up, G-1 is still on.

We talked about skype's new beta fixing the IP issues few days ago, well:
Matthew Bailey @Cyborgmatt 2m I can confirm that the new Skype Beta has fixed the IP resolver issue, however this option needs to be enabled first: http://i.imgur.com/8SelhkM.png
