So long as Icefrog cares about DotA 1 balance as well, he can't overbuff ES because the hero is basically must-ban/pick in DotA 1, and only sucks in DotA 2 because of engine differences. What are some of these bugs you are talking about?

A team that's going all-in on a combo like that requires said combo to get a teamwipe to take the game. If you blew your CDs and only got 1-2 kills, your fighting power plummets for the next 3 minutes. This is exacerbated by the fact that you have no small stuns. CM is the only hero in your lineup that has a hard "small" disable (stuff with low CDs that you expect to come off CD a 2nd or 3rd time and can clean up after the fight), which means once your wombo combo is planted, if it didn't one-shot everyone, you have no way to prevent the enemy from disengaging. Which means they find a place to take the fight where they take an acceptable loss (losing 1-2 people), and then counter-fight/push when your big ult(s) are on CD. This is even easier lategame when they can bait this using buybacks. In pubs you'll often see teams more or less wipe themselves on the combo and let you straight rax off a 5-0 wipe. It's why many newer players love these AoE combo teams (I remember playing Warlock+SK all day every day when I first played DotA years ago). But a high level team isn't going to walk into the 5-0 teamwipe. They'll lose a man or two, and then abuse your timing weakness with your ults down. So you go big and win outright, or you go home Yeah I realized though, which is quite sad ![]()

If it wasn't allowed they would have to release a statement regarding which "bugs" that are currently accepted in tournaments would be out of limits.

First of all, which teams qualify as "CIS teams"? Is 2/5 good enough (DD)? Or 3/5 (Empire)? Also, why do they use the term "USW teams"? Is EG a USW team, eventho they have Bambo? Another thing is, why do they say they will handle it individually? It's not hard determining all the possible server setups for the problematic US x EU matchups before the tournament starts, there's not that many teams, after all. This system basically means that the team with the worse connection will get a server advantage in the final game. edit: I guess "USW teams" means "EG". For some reason, I thought Dignitas were in the qualifiers. Still, I don't understand why didn't they just write out the possible server setups for EG matches, and instead fuck around with EUW teams, and CIS teams....
