In mid he just matches up against all the typical bottle-crow mids spamming Ancestral Spirit on every wave and using his high damage to clean up lasthits. In off-lane he likewise can use the Spirit to get lasthits, and pull it back for a burst of movement speed if they try to kill him. On May 02 2013 09:23 Torte de Lini wrote: Yeah I thought so too, NB says he needs the levels, but I don't think he has much lane dominance or ability to really survive mid. He's actually really powerful against melees mid. He just runs the spirit through the creeps and your hero, and pulls it back for a bunch of MS and damage and right clicks you for a ton of damage. It's not all that easy for most melees to fight straight up against a hero with ~80 damage level 1.

And that aura is so damn sick later <3 The aura crushes low-mobility carries that rely on their survivability stats to stay in a fight. You just put you/your spirit on them and their armor/magic resist evaporates. Dragon Knight was the biggest target when TC was used in DotA 1. Even though most of his armor isn't base armor, the hero relies so much on his tankiness to stay in the fight and has no real way out if TC just turns on BKB and walks on his face. On May 02 2013 09:52 NB wrote: I dont know, we did run mag as offlaner before we realize how powerful he is in mid. I think TC is pretty much the same case here as people just gona bottle crow and dont even care about rune check. My question: what is the interaction between spirit and TP/blink/relocate? does the spirit get relocate into the otherside of the map? To be fair, we'd still be running Mag off-lane if Skewer still had 1200 range level 1. Chinese teams knew the hero bottle-crowed just fine from day 1, it's just that when he had 1200 range Skewer, there was literally no reason NOT to run him off-lane because of how impossible it was to keep him down. The spirit used to mirror your movement (old wodota top 10s where the spirit would mirror move through enemy fountain when you TPed home), but the mirror movement mechanic is gone. If you TP somewhere, the spirit just stays where it is.
